Cell phone signal "helpers"?

  Help for cell phone reception? I can see the cell antenna tower from my back yard, less than a 1/2 mile away to the top of the tower. But my mobile home is 100% covered in aluminum siding so it's like a signal blocking box.  My son, an ATT rep. just gave me a MOTTO smart phone but it's darn near useless in the house.
  I was hoping to find a passive system (Antenna bridge.) but most reviews are crappy for the ones I've found. Has anyone found something that they like? (Even if a powered repeater type.)

We had a booster installed in my shop a couple of months ago and it did nothing so bought a stronger and more expensive setup and it does work.  I'll try to get the models of both tomorrow when I'm in or Monday if my data/comm guy knows what the installer put in.

I have an AT&T microcell in my home. Works just fine. Without it there is about half a bar - untenable to say the least.

Thanks I checked on that!  It is an actual cell connection to the internet! Interesting and got me started looking into repeaters and such. I was wanting to avoid something that requires internet. I didn't even know that was possible.    So I've learned even more then my Tech. enabled sons!

We installed a Wilson amplifier over 2 years ago, it solved all our problems immediately and has been perfect ever since.

They have dozens of types available.  We have the DB Pro 65, which I see is now discontinued.  You'll have to research what they now offer, we called their tech people at one point to help finalize our selection.  They were pretty helpful, as was a local tech-y guy.  The Verizon tech folks were worthless.

We have a Wilson as well.  It works great.  Really helps as long as the outdoor antenna is located in the right direction.

  Bookmarked that, Thanks for the recommendations.     I pay 75.00 or so per month just for internet and a home phone from Brighthouse cable service. As my need for both has dropped with all the kids out and on their own I'm thinking of ways to cut overhead costs. My TV antenna picks up about 50 channels and cost about 110.00 5 years ago. I can use the same mast to optimize cell above the ground clutter of 200 assorted mobile homes nicely as the tower is line of sight from my back yard. Even at 400.00 that system will pay for itself in 6 months if it meets my needs.
