ws, what a beauty.  I really like the secondary coloring with the black.

I'd really like to get one.  Prolly better stay out of my friends.

I'm very happy with it. :2thumbs:----My first impression of the black wheels (in pictures last year)was they didn't fit with the B5 color very well for my taste. Since I have seen it in person from all angles they do fit with all the other black parts on the car.--I will make no changes.

The brass monkey wheels that have seen so much interest lately :shruggy: IMO do not look good with this color (at least in the pictures I've seen). Maybe on a white car or another earthy color like the granite.

The way my mind works tells me that a big part of the interest in the "brass monkey" wheels is the name.    If they were to be called dark bronze I expect the interest in them would be lower. :shruggy:  The other aspect of this is they are an "option" //special :scratchchin: that further enhances the appeal to some.

Congrats to all the proud owners!

Sublime is my personal fav  :2thumbs:

So I'm back home and settled in with the hellcat (having driven it 2300 miles) and now have to find room for it for the winter.  My 09 srt, 69 hemi coronet, and C500 fill the basement garage--almost. I do have measured room to fit four cars deep and will do that if I have to :eek2:. My intent is to sell the 09 srt soon. :shruggy:

I spent most of this day attending to both of the challengers and was a bit surprised at the differences. Having lived with the hellcat and all the bells and whistles for several long days-- the felt-- difference between the two was interesting.

The 09 srt felt a little stark or plain inside. :scratchchin:---just in comparison--- The clutch is definitely heavier in the hellcat but not a problem at all.  The first gear in the 09 is a bit lower.  I had become used to starting out in second because of that.  I also never liked the skip shift (from first to forth) nonsense. --Never got around to bypassing it :shruggy:--- The hellcat has the skip shift also but it happens in such a narrow window of rpm that it is less of an irritation for me in this car.

I am overall impressed with the differences. They mount up to be worth the 30K+ that is cost (or will) for me to make it from my 09 to the hellcat.

Since the most asked question these days about cool cars in general is-- what's it worth?-- I thought I would tell what it was worth to me to get this car.

I bought my 09 for msrp--45k.  It now has 18000 miles on it and I expect to get near the market value for it. 30k :scratchchin:  So that is a depreciation of 15k in 7 or so years. :shruggy:--That is money already spent for a cool car.--  So If I get the 30k for the 09srt my bottom line is I will be paying about 34K for the up grade.---That is a chunk of change :slap:.  It is a whole cars worth of chunk change. :icon_smile_wink:---The hellcat has so far lived up to the price I was willing to pay :2thumbs:

I grew up with muscle cars and mopar's to be specific. This car fit's well in the muscle car category. I think most that read this site come from the days of fun we got playing with cars. -Good days indeed--

I also understand the temptation to go into debt to play. I found out in a small way early on that spending one's future for the here and now was a bad idea. It is still true. --I am living my future now----- These cars are expensive, but what you get for the cost is a killer deal. Dodge has made a good move with this car at this price. :Twocents:

I guess my enthusiasm shows.--a bit chatty-- :D

Just an update about owning/driving a hellcat challenger in local traffic. It is easily as nice as my 09 srt in comfort and manors.  And it's subdued presents is to my liking.  I get much more attention with the C500 (for example)
Also I went to dmv to get the title, reg. and plates.---I am getting---4CE FED---  :icon_smile_wink:  Just another little clue for those behind me.

No burn out pictures.---I intend to save my tires for the fun of cornering and use pictures from others with the same car to show how to make a costly cloud of smoke. :D

:brickwall:  Dammit, why do you have to be so practical and responsible?     :RantExplode:

Come on down.  I will need proof of ethical responsibility. :D   And will be the judge of your references

BTW I offered to let two of my best friends (car guys) drive it and they declined.----They will change their mind with time I suspect. :icon_smile_wink: ---  I let my son drive it from Tacoma to Portland. He had great fun with it and something to share with his friends beyond our sharing.

I'm still learning new stuff about my new car. The seat of the pants (smile making) feel everyone talks about is real.

A 5.7L hemi (for example) makes 410 ft-lb torque at 4800 rpm. This car makes 411 ft-lb torque at 1200 rpm. :icon_smile_wink:

When we talk about how the car feels in normal driving-- horsepower is not what we feel.

Throttle response is one way to express it but torque is what kicks the butt :2thumbs:

Lord Warlock

congratulations on the new ride, makes me jealous...a little bit at least.  Would love a ride sometime, keep enjoying it and appreciate every smile you get out of it.

I lied about who it was. I think it was that other news guy. I just like seeing the tires smoking.

Don't put too much emphasis on it.  Look on the bright side, your not getting threads locked.
