hey guys so im in the process of doing alot to my car right now so i dont have alot of $$ budgeted for suspension. im thinking about holding off until next fall however my car has stock suspension and power drum brakes and i want to lower it. can anyone suggest how i can do that i know i can do lowering blocks in the back but what about up front ? thanks

Look up adjusting your torsion bars.  I haven't done mine in a while, but you take a socket wrench and turn the adjusting bolt one way or the other; keep in mind that going too far either way may affect your alignment...

how much of a drop is possible with adjustment of torsion bars ? 1 to 2 inches or less ?

How low do you want to go?  :scratchchin: One inch+ is possible but any changes will need alignment after. (That will limit alignment tolerances.)

How low do you wanna go? Post a pic of how the card currently sits if you have one.

I know you said the budget is tight, but theres a company that makes two inch drop spindles, if you need them. Either PST or Hotchkis. (I forget.)

Hotchkis springs will lower the rear, and they have a Black Friday sale on now.

Are you looking for CHEAP ??
Sure... a 2 or 3 inch lowering block in the rear will work. If you are not putting out a bunch of power it should not be a problem. The front can come down by adjusting the torsion bars until the lower control arms rest against the frame, then crank them back up a bit to have some travel. I've seen the LCA bumpstops cut down before so the car can be low but have suspension travel. You do NOT want to ride on the bumpstops. This makes the car bouncy and hard to control on bumpy roads.

At the extreme, 4-6" depending on where you start from. Reasonably, 1-2" is typically possible, unless your suspension is already dog tired and near bottom already. 440s on 6 banger torsion bars tend to do this.

Here's some good pictures.

If you even think you may be getting the Hotckis setup I think you should get with them first. They will know just what and how things work best for you.  :scratchchin:
