WAS my first time in a Hobby Lobby lots of neat stuff man. wood of got lots more but was full to the brim ,just left Home Town Buffhay,ha ha..  was full an sleepy,lol...

      looked at the model row,not on sale ,but lots of great an old models--cars,semi s, boats an planes. kick ing myself picked up a metal old school model 1 25 th car trailer,but put it back for afew 1/2 off mopar signs??? its ownly money. an have bout every model car trailer ever made,even semi car carrier an enclosed trailers..

          Back ooh early 80 after 1st ex had lots of time an 3 bed house. so 1 bedromm an half living room was covered with model cars an semi trucks.even had a wrecking yard full of old Barris customs an my an brothers old models from the 60es an 70es,that mom wood push out of the way with vaccum nozzel an suck up all the small parts she broke off..BITCH

      had a area of burned cars an wrecks I made by heating an bending up cars with missing parts.wood use the fire place too melt an blacken cars with missing parts,,,,DAM ME,who knew back then.  Even gave all the 60-70es hot wheel an all the johnny lightning an match box cars to my sisters boys?

           ANYWAY i built the 16-18th scale blue Kenworth soft tire SEMI 30 yrs ago an never have found a trailer for it,,,have collected little wood pallets that came under post it notes an few little wood crates that wood be perfect on that scale trailer.done with raising my kids an 2nd xx bull an live in a different 3bed home an making the 3 no bed MANCAVE even tossing the couch ,just few recliners an master bed room will bee a hobby shop as i live an sleep in living room?

How accurate is this 1/16 scale Charger?  I may get one to make a copy of my own car.

     from memory its a stock car frame (full cage  etc  has huge nascar  single 4 barrel manifold with cowl induction ) with the "dukes" body .

       built it waaay back when   so memory is a little fuzzy 

   seen to remember it flew "spectacularly".... no wait ,that was the landing

The GL toys aren't officially yanked from the shelves.  Never were.  


The rights to manufacture more GL toys will expire on December 31st.  It's a yearly renewal.  2015 was already halfway over when the shooting happened.  Warner Bros says they won't allow any future renewals.  The toy companies can theoretically run the machinery 24/7 until then, but that's it.  




The 1:16 scale GL kit is mostly the Richard Petty (3rd-gen Charger) NASCAR kit of that size.  They gave it a '69 Charger body shell (and some 1970 seats).  It still has the NASCAR rollcage/chassis and the race Hemi.  

It makes a cool model but it's not like a production Charger.

    yrs ago i found 2 of the bando race trucks and 4 of the long frame haulers aero KW sleeper cabover. was a Payless parking lot sale,old stock or damage boxes.got race an hauler trucks $5 each. this summer got several car kits a swap meet for $3-5 each.. have afew hundred kits,lots still sealed. have few die cast too,few k hot wheel size......?  may bee a addict or reliving kid yrs?   DJ,

The finished GL kit also has interior door panels (and an engine) but there is no back seat.  The whole stance of the chassis/wheelbase & cage is incorrect for a '69.

    aero 426 THANKs for info on 40% off, even without  phone or app they gave me 40% off all 4 kits.saved alot,talked to manager on way in bout 40% he said 1 item per visit. so i just said i wood probly spent a 100$ an he said 40% off all the models i wanted.

     got the DAYTONA at mike burger an icecream wall pic too. anyone seen it ,full of muscle cars with a red tona in center of pic.its 15 x 22 ish,at bottom has a boss 429 stang racing a 69 camaro ,Baldwin or nickey white but an center stripe.even a rambler Srambler red,white an blue.

       hobby -lob only been open here 5 weeks.got 3 mopar signs an a big 3 old vette in a old shop wall pic,hat an lots of stuff.dropped $150 in 2 visits. tons more models i want but spendy kits.

I went wednesday night and picked up my dad a cowboy shadow box. He is 82 and always been a cowboy at heart, he has always had a pasture full of horses and mules but lately he has realized he can't take care of so many and has gave several away to scale down a bit. He has 5 left now I think and that's plenty enough for him to piddle with. I used to buy him things to work with but he really isn't able to do much anymore so the cowboy shadow box look neat and when I saw it I thought of him. They had some good deals for sure since they were having the 50% off sale I got the shadow box for 45 bucks and got me a couple of metal mopar sign's for the front of my shop too!! I did see the general lee kits (big and small scale) but I had already bought several when they said there were no more to be produced after the shooting. I did find a nice general lee slot car just laying on a random shelf,after an online coupon I only gave 13 bucks for it and it looked pretty nice once I got it home and checked it out. It is made by auto world which I have read some poor review's about their slot car sets but I'm not going to use it anyway, I just wanted it because the car looked great with the flag on it!!!

      Stopped at a Cash King,like dollar store they had 10 hemi newer dodge monster trucks,$14-  called RAMinator an lot of planes an choppers models.

  Few yrs back stopped at a CASH Connection ,liqidator store got 4 fast n furious kits 2 black chargers an 2 of the Toko-green 68 stang fastbacks,$6 each.. like that price when i can find it.


        With HOBby_LOBBY %4o off its cheaper than most of wally-mart kits.  But that 1/16 dukes kit is a mess ,no exhaust ,cage is too low to roof an front uprights angle not match 69 window post. when i build it will mod cage, lots of stuff.  may not even duke it,deffinatly no push bar,blocking the grill.   WAnt ta build a 1/16 scale DAYTONA,BUT wing an nose??   DJ on a winter toy binge?

Maybe one of the small "after market" plastic kit builders will make a nose and wing for the 1:16 Charger...I would buy it....don an on-line search and drop them a line.....you never know.....if there is demand they just might do it

There have been some resin parts made to convert the 1/16 Dukes body into a Daytona.   Not sure if they are still available.    See thread link below.

   saw 2 petty 1/16 an 2 red  K&K 3rd gens 1/16  kits today,,at eugene toy an hobbies,Eugene,OREGON.


They were $50 each there??? so $30 for big Dukes at hobby lobby is a great price an ya get a 2nd gen body?

    WELL  i just got 2 Daytonas ay wally -mart.   they are M2 Machines 1/64 in a display case.1 is orange with 69 on door,1 is black w/ Boot legger on door.
also got a hemi 68 cuda- Plymouth on door an heart with with pointy tail on roof an quarter.  ALL have hemis opening hoods an doors.

       i got the big box that 6 or so came in says MOPAR GARAGE ON 3 SIDES,,OTHERS SAYS GROUND POUNDER ON 6 PACK BOX,,THEY WERE FREE FOR JUST THE BOX..CARS $5.88.DJ

      Stop at Trash an treasures collectable an old shop,in springfield,or.lots of models. was buying the chi-town Hustler,$20. said i wood like more of his mopars but have to wait. he says well how many an if $100 buy, i wood get 20% off.
   So i got Chitown an hawaiian 2nd gen flip funny cars,a daytona,a superbird with Petty decals an 67 GTX AN R/T.

    then he hands me a big box an I pull a 71 Road Runner ----SUPER bird an Firebird funny car out of it. allready built cars an needing few parts,$5.oo each but free with my $100,20% off deal .


     The 71 SUPERBIRD  kit has a more like 70 bird nose than the real car built by Dayclona team. one i got was only missing 2 ugly mags an the wing.i found a 74 GTX kit  an was very shocked it has the wing in kit an is a build it 2 ways kit with tons of double parts an mags for 2 way. Anyone buy Daisy Duke car an find a bird wing in it

And since it's a Nascar kit, the front fenders are cut round, like a nascar, looks kinda stupid if you're going for a GL build.

I filled them in with a patch
