When we were at Mopars in the Park this last spring, we had our Charger 500/Daytona clone parked next to an original Daytona and noticed our rear windows were different. The Daytona was pretty flat while ours had a curve or rise to it. I had some long-time wing car owners who know these cars way more than I do, look and they were a bit puzzled. There was a vega plug car owner there and he assured me mine wasn't a vega car, I was worried for an hour or so to say the least :-) The consensus was a different vendors for the rear windows for 500's or Daytonas??? I'll try to get a pic of my window posted, anyone know the "rest of the story"?

never heard of 2 different rear windows.....the plug and glass for the C500 and the Daytona are the same from all that I have read and seen.....

Do you have any pictures of the 2 different glass in question?

This is a new one for me to. :scratchchin: I'm thinking the final answer is very near as a few more from the aero crowd read this.

Could have been that the Daytona he saw had a replacement glass in it...   :shruggy:  They have been repopped a few times before...  Not all good!

Original 500/Daytona rear glass has a slight 'bubble' to it from a side view. Even the race Plexiglas windows have it.   :Twocents:
I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

Around 10 years back or so they were made by a glass Co that ether went out of business or quit making them. I had a buddy that bought one for his 500. It fit ok but it was flat and the originals like mine are not. :Twocents: (Wingman).  Jay.

Here is a pic of my window. Mine has the mentioned "bump" or "rise" in it. Maybe the other cars window was a replacement??

yes, the stamp is in the lower right corner. It's barely visible in this pic, but it's there. Thanks Stuart for the help. I guessed this car was as original as a clone could be considering the fact that it was cloned 30-ish years ago.

When the reproduction Daytona rear glasses were available, it was apparent they lacked the proper amount of "bubble".   At the time, it was blamed on the manufacturing process.
