If you believe in 'karma' you'll know where I'm coming from here.
As I stated in this thread:
http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,11863.0.html
The body shop did damage some of our good parts...they:
1- melted the tan dash pad (perfect,no cracks or fading) and tried to cover it up by painting it gold!
2- painted the dash vin tag
3- painted the woodgrain steering wheel and signal arm
4- lost/broke the piece under the steering column
5- dented our trim around the windshield
and when they took any screws out, they just threw them all into a container together :flame:

Needless to say, when we confronted them, they got their backs up. Since our car was still in the shop, we tried to keep the peace, so to speak. We're not the type to stir up shit...but at the time, we were pretty pissed to say the least. We are just happy now to have ours back on the road. She had sat for 9yrs.,before this resto...so we missed her TONS!! :yesnod: (we have owned her for over 20yrs. and met in it...my husband picked me up hitch hiking back in 86 :icon_smile_wink:)

So this is were karma shows up :yesnod:
I believe that what goes around comes around...and it has!
We just found out that the body shop was fire bombed last month :o
None of the cars were damaged but the office was destroyed!
Word is there has been quite a bit of vandalism in their area.
I'm wondering if they just pissed off the wrong person over the winter. :yesnod:

NOTE: We are pissed, like most Charger owners would be, but we are extremely grateful to have our baby mobile again...and these are the guys that brought her back to life ;D...(and a whole lot of our MONEY...hahaha) :icon_smile_wink:

You are in Canada - correct?

Where?

What was the name of the bodyshop?

Do you have any before and after pics of what they did to your car?

:rotz: :rotz: :rotz:...wait..is it bad karma for u or the body shop? If its bad karma for the body shop then having their office destroyed wasnt bad enough..they should of lit the person who worked on the charger's personal car on fire :icon_smile_evil: lol
Mopar Or No Car!!!!!!!!

6pkrunner

This is the problem with a body shop as opposed to a restoration shop. I know its hindsight, but when using a bodyshop for restoration work, you should supply them the empty shell and sheetmetal only on casters. Yes its hard and sometimes not practical, but the usual body shop could care less about what bolt went where and the finish on any parts as oppsoed to spraying everything.
Sorry to hear of your bad luck, and I'm not too sure about rejoicing over the torched place yet. Make sure your car and all your parts are out of there.

Old Moparz

Glad to hear you have your car back & will get to enjoy it for the season. I have to agree with 6pkrunner about the body shop & resto shop difference. I had my Scamp repaired & painted by a local body shop & very happy with the work & price. I spent many hours removing everything so I didn't have to worry about where it would have ended up, or contend with overspray. It also kept the cost down this way because I didn't have to pay the shop for hours & hours or removals & prep work. They still got some overspray on some things, but not too bad.

Just over the bridge before you get to Mississauga.
I've had my car for just over a year, and it is still not ready for the road.  Maybe later this summer.
Anytime you want to come and pick me up and take me for a cruise, I think that would be great.  Bring your Husband as I am sure my Wife's eyebrows would raise a bit if I told her I was going for a cruise with Charger Lady!   :icon_smile_big:

LEARN BY YOUR MISTAKES...something I know now :yesnod:
Our car is home safe and sound!! :yesnod: They have a Firebird in there right now but there was no damage to the work shop...so the car is fine (except for what they have done to it...hahaha) :icon_smile_wink:

The owner actually has about 40 classic cars himself,so we thought they knew to be more careful!!
We paid these guys $10 000 for paint & body. They also paid for full quarters, floor pans (all),rear valance and the paint...so if you've seen what she looked like before resto,I think we got our moneys worth out of them! ;D

THANKS
We stripped everything but the dash, sterring wheel, glass and some trim. There was crappy rims & tires on her. Oh well, live and learn. :icon_smile_wink:
