I'm guessing that car is worth $45,000.  :shruggy:
But then again, how would I know?   Most of us don't buy these cars in this condition and the ones that do DON'T SHARE THE PRICE THEY PAID.   That makes it kinda hard to put a value on it.    :nana: :Twocents:

:smilielol:
I'm thinking it's worth more than what I sold mine for.   I found a guy on another forum that sold one similar.   When I asked how much he wouldn't say either.
I guess that means it's really only worth what someone is willing to pay.

BUT YOURS IS LIKE A PIECE OF STRING HOW LONG IS THAT ..BUT NICE CAR ANYWAY YOU LOOK AT IT CONGRATULATIONS  ON A GREAT FIND YOUR BRO SHOULD BE STOKED  :punkrocka:    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dodge-Coronet-Magnum-/321914845091?forcerrptr=true&hash=item4af39eb7a3:g:FTgAAOSw3 :cheers:ydVhekX&item=321914845091

Maybe ask yourselves what you would pay for an orginal, unrestored  R\T B body with a 440 4sp and a factory Dana that's 100% complete, needing only fluids and a few wear items replaced to run again.  And nothing else.  I wouldn't be surprised if this car brings 60k or possibly a little higher given the right sale venue.  Admittedly I was there when the deal went down (with the original owner) and couldn't believe the condition and originality of the car. It's exactly what you'd imagine a "survivor" car would be. You'd be hard pressed to find another one like it. If ever.

What's really amazing is the factory build flaws that are on the car. Runs and sags in the paint esp.  I'll post some as found pics.

As far as the releasing the specific sale price goes, I'm not sure that really is necessary or is of major importance to the hobby. And it's tacky to keep pressing for it..JMHO . They certainly don't publish sale prices in any of the automotive publications that feature such 'barn finds.'

BINGO!!!! :yesnod:

Throw it up for sale as "make offer" and see what the offers are  :shruggy:
Honestly I'm no expert on these cars but my guesstimate would be $45k to low $50's.   If you paid anything under $20,000 for it I'd say you did real good.

Here's an original numbers matching HEMI coronet you can buy for $95,000.   :shruggy:   I'm changing my range to high 30's to low 50's.   :2thumbs:

I meant to say $45,000 in my post up top.   I corrected it.
But, we'll need more pictures.  Especially the undercarriage, trunk and other areas.   I may be wrong but aren't they basically worth the same as Chargers now?   Either way I stand by my statement if you paid under $20,000 for it, I think you stole it.   :2thumbs:

Chargers are more desirable then a Coronet. It's in nicer shape then my Charger but since it aint a Charger I figure it's worth the same $29,000 mine sold for :shruggy:

Okay - Enough about money.....let's look at this car!  :yesnod:   What they paid - That's their business.

Let's see the car, engine compartment, trunk, interior, suspension, etc.....and we can start giving you constructive advice on what you should touch and what you should leave alone.....what you should just clean - and the right, non-destructive way to clean. Consider it a C.S.I. investigation....slow and careful.

I agree sounds easy enough. I would like to see more of the car too...

Nice car but it's not a survivor.   I'd pay more for the survivor in this thread.
Just finding almost any car like this is a prize.    If there was only just under 2000 4speeds made in 68 this is probably the best survivor left.

At one point I used to joke with my friend who has a real 68 Hemi Coronet 4-speed that I could drop a crate Hemi into my 318 68 Charger and sell it for $20k more than he'd get for his. At the time, it had been proven with several recent sales. For comparison's sake, I don't know what the "survivor" status would add to the average price but it probably won't going to push this car into the same range as a Hemi R/T, "survivor" Charger, or even "survivor" 1969 Coronet R/T. When you're dealing with cars like this the buyer list tends to get really small - and one of them is going to have to want a gold 68 R/T or it's going to sit right where it's at.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

^^ Agree :2thumbs:  The list of buyers that may want this car is small. What one of them might pay is the worth of the car but in the end that information has little value. ---A seller could feel comfy with their perceived value of the car but if that one buyer can't be found it becomes a non issue. :slap:

I also agree that we would be better served if we could see more of this car. We have gone around the circle of worth with very few pictures :shruggy:

My first ride in one of these led me to buy a 69 Bee and later --my 69 coronet.  I am interested in the details of how this car made it into our view 46 years after it was made.

I hope graybo can get some good detailed pics (the value to me) that can be saved here just in case this car disappears like many do.

I agree that the list of buyers that are willing to pay MARKET VALUE is small, but I'm sure there are thousands of people that want that car, myself included, but only at a bargain.
If it ain't broke, fix it 'till it is.

Guys thanks for all the "interesting" input.  This is my BROTHER'S car.  I did not mean to mislead anyone.  My brother is not looking to FLIP the car and make a million.  This was an honest post about a car that HE and I are reallllllllllly excited about.  There is no "elephant in the room"  I was very clear that this car is out of my(our) league.  Of course I'm (we) are interested in what the R/T would be worth to an investor/collector.  There is no hidden agenda here.  I will post more pics as I get them. HE (We) intend to have the car out at Carlisle,PA this summer for people to see and enjoy.  And no HE did not rip off the original owner.  Owner stated a price and it was purchased.

That is a car to keep, way rarer and cooler than most any Charger you will ever find. The kind of car that if you sold it, you'll regret for the rest of your life!

Gotta agree with A12, if you bought it right and have no need to sell, don't dwell on what it might be worth. Clean it up, keep it and enjoy the hell out of it! You aren't likely to find another like it!

Somehow I don't think so.  Lots of the regulars on here wouldn't let this one get away, but something tells me the sprucing up of this baby is to maximize profit.  I got no problems with that, not my car.  It just grates when sweet deals land on folks that may not appreciate the magnitude of their good fortune....besides the dollars and cents of it.   That might not be the case here.......let's check back on this thread in a year.     ;)
