Did all big block chargers come with HP manifolds? Even 383 / 2bbl cars?
or maybe all dual exhaust cars had hp manifolds...that makes sense to why I am asking.  Looking at dual exhaust system for 383 Charger and the shop says they dont need manifold casting #'s

Thx

I don't believe they all came with HP manifolds. 383 2 barrel cars most likely would have had single exhaust with the "log" type manifolds I do believe.

Log type
383 2 barrel and 440 4 barrel non HP 1966-69 Right 2532464
383 2 barrel and 440 4 barrel non HP 1966-69 Left 2461307

HP type
383 and 440 4 barrel 1968-69 383 Magnum Right 2806900
383 and 440 4 barrel 1968-69 383 Magnum Left 2843992

For 70-71 they are different than 68-69
440 and 383 4 barrel 1970-71 B - E Body Right 2899879
440 and 383 4 barrel  1970-71 B - E Body Left 2951865

Interesting as the shop doing the exhaust says all 383 manifolds (1970) are the same.
I just don't want to order something that doesn't fit, as other places like Accurate LTD ask for casting numbers or at least call them out.

Thanks for the info!

Check out this link. It has an extensive list of manifold #s. Hopefully will help you out so you can at least verify what you need.

myk

Sounds like you need a different shop...

process of deduction I think;

383 hp and 440 are the same
383 2 bbl is a single exhaust not dual
same for 318 and /6

I think only the hemi is different.
68 Charger 383 HP grandma car (the orignal 3X)

I think you are correct. He is advertising as dual exhaust system so only HP manifolds would have been used.  Here is the link to the ad.

As long as your manifolds are 70-71 style HP manifolds this exhaust should work - since it says it fits Charger and Roadrunner which would come with the HP manifolds on the Charger high performance 383 engine and the roadrunner only came with the HP 383 and Hemi. If you have 68-69 manifolds then the mounting flange on the right side head pipe will be turned the opposite way from how it mounts to the manifold and this system if built to fit 70 only will not fit the 68-69 style flange.
