Some collect them and some throw them away and some try to reunite them with the proper car.

Keep it filed indoors and send a scan to 1970 Dodge Charger Registry...if it's for a 1970 Charger.

In 2002 when I bought my AAR Cuda , there was another party looking at the car and because they didn't get it , stole the fender tag  off of it and wouldn't give it up to the new  owner (flipper I bought it from). I get the car , have AG verify/make me a new tag . 5 years later , as I scan Ebay for Chargers/Cuda stuff , is a fender tag from an AAR , you guessed it , it was mine . I didn't confront in messages to the guy , just figured I'd suck it up and buy it , then let him know is is a POS !!!!!
I won the auction for a mere $56.00 for it , received it , then thanked the POS for re-uniting the tag to its original car that should have been with it all along(being sarcastic) . He says he didn't do it , but got the tag in a pile of parts collection he bought . Talking to the guy I bought it from to let him know I now did get it , he confirmed  it was the guy !!!!

I have a few that are stuck in with my cars paperwork. No plans for them. They are just hanging around.
