Could've done a better job on the body gaps, both doors the hood and trunk.  :brickwall:

When something looks nice (like this does) the flaws seem to stand out more.

It would be interesting to take our 2015 eyes back to 1970 and see what we would see on a showroom floor.  How many of us would be "that guy" that gives the salesman a list of things to fix or we wont buy?

I don't know why he calls it a California car, It's not a California car. They tried to make the Engine compartment look correct & original & then threw that funky looking ugly Radiator in there? Guess they couldn't find the #956 or didn't want to pay the $1,000.00+ for one. And whats wrong with the back side of that Drivers door? Has a bunch of big pimples on it like somebody put on a new door skin & left big tack welds on it? :shruggy: :slap: LEON.

Sold for $47k & change month or so back.

Clear $15k in 2 months minus some transportation fees, not bad.  I bet they never titled it so no taxes either.

Luke

that also was the first thing I noticed. but I'm doing my body work right now on my 69 and the more I look over the body the more anal I get about imperfections, so it might just be me.....
On the otherhand I like the overall combo on this car, 4speed dana car and the color combo works for me.
Is that the going rate for a second gen these days or does this one belong in the delusional sellers topic? or is the price because of the 4speed? Maybe if it was a V-code car it would look more like it
Greetings from Belgium, the beer country

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

I think the price is reasonable, given the options and setup of the car.

Panel gaps?  We're talking about a 60's muscle car, not a hand built , hyper-expensive Rolls Royce or something.  Maybe I'm just a low-browed admirer but that car is good enough for me...

But this wasn't restored in a 60's mass production plant.  A car restored to this level should be built with as much care as a Rolls, the hours in to it are certainly there.  Presumably paint and body guys had their hands all over it and they didn't seem to care to improve the gaps at all.  Ok, the stock fit probably wasn't perfect and that's a product of mass production tolerances, but the gaps shouldn't be crooked and differing widths.

Maybe they just had the shop gopher install the panels without checking the work.  To me the hood gap is terrible and just looks like it needs a few minutes of adjustment.  This is low-hanging fruit on a car like this and if they can't get that right then one starts to wonder what other items may have been rushed or shorted.

The whole car looks rushed & shorted to me. LEON.

Guys that refer to restored Mopars as being "Frame Off" need to be kicked in the dick. :hah:

Truth- I just put my hood back on and it lined up better than that in 5 minutes. It's a nice looking car, but for that kind of cake the stupid stuff should not be.

:yesnod: yeah true  :2thumbs:  , the amount of sellers ,  mostly dealers  I've seen ,  still claim that their mopar forsale  has  had a fame off restoration  :P

the more you look at this  70 charger , the more you see wrong  ,

just like  the green & tan  69  R/T se  that  (MTD) posted in the delusional thread  , look past the shiny paint  ( does look good ) , & things jump out  , that are a red flag  to those who know or experienced in auto body .   , most of it needs re doing  or starting again ,  because !  your wondering what orher corners have be cut & not done properly  etc  ,

if sellers are attempting to ask these prices  :o !  the cars should be perfect & then some  :Twocents:   its not the guys who are trying to sell these cars who are at fault  ,  dealers all try to make money , that's what they do !!  :brickwall:  ::)

its the guys who do the restorations  on these cars  , who are at fault ,  judging by the work that's been done  ,  most know what they are doing  , so why not do it properly  , some of the stuff that's wrong or not right  , or just crap    is basic stuff   ,

 no offence meant to anyone

I think it is the dealers fault, If a seller pays low bucks to Earl Scheib to give it a Earl Scheib  paint job, Thats fine if he sells for a low dollar amount because the car is a low quality car. Whats not right, Is some dealer buys this low quality Earl Scheib car for low dollar amount & then tries to flip it for some show car quality price. I'm not talking about this particular car in question but other cars. LEON.

tan top

yeah that's soo  true  also !! if its the dealers have  sorted the body & paint     :yesnod:  :2thumbs:
