Hagerty or Grundy seem to be the popular choices.  Best thing to do is call them up and get a quote...

I heard good things on American Collectors Insurance 1 (866) 874-4794 info@americancollectors.com  www.AmericanCollectors.com

I went through Hagerty.   No matter who you go through make sure you insure it for an agreed value amount.   Not that you'll ever need it hopefully.

Mike,  Your question is difficult to answer for a true comparison, as rates vary state to state.

We have two 1969 Chargers insured under what's known as "agreed value" policies. And as such, on a collector car policy.

You might want to give Adam or Bobbie Jo a call at the NCM Insurance Agency and ask for a quote. They have saved me a BUNCH of money over others we compared  :Twocents:

Here's their website:

I hope this helps you as much as they helped us  :coolgleamA:

I canceled my policy with Hagerty because they kept jacking up the price each year.  About $130 in 2 years and no good explanation from them.  I'm probably going with Grundy next.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

I just recently went with American collectors. The agreement on insured value was not a PIA.
My hope is I will not have to find out how hard it is to collect if need be.

This might be a stupid question, but what is "PIA"?

Have mine insured on my regular Erie insurance, with an agreed upon value. (which may not be enough considering some of the prices these days...  :o)  It's like $450 a year for comp/collision, no mileage restrictions.  Had to get it appraised by someone from insurance company, which was a bit sketchy because the car looks like crap but is solid underneath.  Was $700 a year when it was the only vehicle on my policy.

Some of the specialty insurance companies wouldn't cover me because of driving it to work, not having a garage, not having a primary vehicle less than 10 years old, etc.

Insurance threads pop up frequently.   Make sure to search them out.  They are peppered with personal experiences.

I just used State Farm which all my other vehicles are under. I did a 5k miles or less a year agreement for classic car and we agreed on a value and they approved it. I've driven the car 4k miles in 3 years.

American Modern underwrites Heacock, as per their website, so not sure your post makes any sense.  :popcrn:

Regarding a mandatory deductible, I've never heard of that either, so it could be a state regulation one company enforces and not the other, or just your interpretation.  :Twocents:

My bad as I stated a piece of S**T Co was American Modern- as I HAVE THEM NOW AND THEIR A GREAT CO.
what I lacked as USING my memory- (I'm GETTING OLDER AND FORGETTABLE of correct facts @ TIMES :shruggy:)

What I should have said (the Co I was referring 2) is American Car Collector- that's the piece of S**T Co to stay away from- so  I'm apologetic to all for my previous statement about American Modern Ins. :icon_smile_big: :2thumbs:
