When's the last time you saw a burned-up muscle car and the front end/engine were still shiny?

This fire must have started in the dashboard.

Dodge Don

That car is registered with the 70 Charger Registry and it is a legit FM3 car with white interior. Even worse the car is a factory sunroof car with power windows.

You'd think you could see the sunroof in the pictures.

Being an Fm3 RT car it deserves to be brought back and restored.

Wonder how warped the metal is from the heat?  :scratchchin:  LEON.

Read the other thread about the car.  That kind of fire damage is generally not restorable for metallurgy reasons.  Making it look pretty again is not the problem.

Possibly.

229724 also left the factory with hood pins, yet none on this car.

Stevearino

I don't see why this couldn't be cut across just behind the front door pillars and spliced to a donor car. That method seems to have been made acceptable with a certain Million dollar convertible Cuda that started with just a firewall and windshield bed.

Is that in all states or only certain states or federal law? LEON.

polywideblock

just  as a what if , lets say someone from overseas dropped the 2500 on it and shipped it off to that mob that do a body in white for 17.5 K.

know there's a thread about them but could not find it , this seems to be the ideal candidate   ;)

walk away with a rare mopar for peanuts, compared to what one specked up like this would cost you.   once overseas ,well  :scratchchin:

In PA. this is what I've learned first hand back in July.
I wanted to get Antique Plates and Registration, this means I needed to turn in my Original Title to be shredded :RantExplode:.
I went to a authorized PA. DMV Station, said I lost my Title and would like a new title, (I really wanted to keep my Original :D), Showed the person an old (more then seven years) Registration Card. I could have given them just the VIN number to run as well.
The person entered the VIN and that car no longer exist in any shape or form in the eyes of PA DMV, it has been purged from the system.
The person says I need a Pencil etching of the dash VIN plate only, to get a New Title. What, no picture to prove the car exist? No, just a pencil etching.
Ok, so I get the etching and back I go, and a New Title comes in my name for that VIN. I now have Legal ownership of a car that could still not be visible to the human eye. Now all I have to do is re-body that VIN dash plate and I have a Legal vehicle in an Illegal way so to speak.
So that Toasted VIN shows what motor (440 R/T) should be in a car I could build and sell to someone as a non matching numbers car.
Of course the VIN numbers on the donors 70's trunk rail and radiator support will need to be doctored up. Could even use a 69's rear end parts.
Someone will buy it.
Now if I have been collecting VIN dash plates for years, after the time allotted I could have a nice income from rebuilds.
So.... it's up to us to record /document what you have found so as to protect the unsuspecting buyers in the future, in this hobby of owning Dodge Chargers.
And the best part of "Toasted" to have is from the cowl forward. :2thumbs:
