hi im looking for a nascar type wheel like the bassets but would like a bigger size 17" or bigger. does anyone know of any ? thanks

richard parker

thanks i just noticed the 17" wheel is 40lbs doesn't that sound a little heavy?

It is a steel wheel.  You could always hit up summit.com and try to find an aluminum wheel in the same style.

As a comparison, I just put one of my 15x10 Vectors on the scale and it's 25,5 pounds.

Depends on what style, early or late  NASCAR wheel you are looking for. Wheel Vintiques (sp)  might have what you want.

Yup, they weigh a ton cuz they are truck wheels.

No competition manufacturers make a 17" version because they supply racing series that are rule limited to 15". Ray Evernham has a special set made in 18" aluminum for one of his builds. I think they were $1800 for the set. He had to do this because no one makes plus sized nascar style wheels.

What's another 160 lbs on these cars?   Fuggedaboutit, no big deal...or just leave the wife at home.   ;)
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

It's unsprung & rotating weight.  The absolute worst.

http://www.rockcrawler-mrt.com/racing%20wheels.html   These guys made my older style kidney bean slot wheels for me.  Call them and ask for what you want.  They weld the centers to your offsets and rim casing size.  My slots weren't advertised.  They had some left over from back in day.  Only thing is they were lug centered for balancing.

But do they have 17" hoops? As a racing wheel provider, everything they show is 13" or 15" to meet rules. Custom centers and offsets are cool, but the OP wants  plus size diameters.
