I'm watching it right now on CNN.  Just sad.   When are all of us nations going to get together and wipe out the middle east completely?     That is the heart of terrorism and should be flattened.  It's never going to end, it's only going to keep spreading.   Time to get mid evil.    Russia will be next.      But then again, they can do more damage on soft targets like in France.

Aren't Paris' gun laws similar to ours?  I think the major differences is limits on how many weapons and rounds of ammunition are allowed to be owned at any time. 

I don't know.  I carry my 1911 around but I have to wonder what good I could do.  I will say this: I think the reason why something like this hasn't happened in the US yet, is because when and if trouble starts there will be at least a few armed citizens that won't be defenseless.  Does that makes sense?  Ultimately, it's just the inherent problem of living in a free society; if someone one wants to stir up trouble in the here and now there's not much anyone can do to stop it before alot of damage is done.  I guess we could live life like in the Hunger Games?

That's a harsh thing to say but if you look back thru their history there is one common thread- violence. It seems that they aren't happy unless they're killing someone or each other. Problem is they are taught this way of life from birth, they know nothing else.

So the solution is what, then?  My liberal friends think a sit-down at a Starbucks and a good-will Shakira concert in Rio with ISIS and anyone else who hates the west will solve everything, while war-mongering, red meat eating knuckle draggers like myself want to fill the skies with long range bombers.  Oh, the conflict...

It's only harsh and barbaric to us.  To them it's all they understand. They don't value life as we do nor are they civilized as us.   There is no reasoning with someone like them.  There is no threatening with someone like them.   So, give them what they want.   We can either keep fighting as careful as we can not to break the rules of war and they will continue to grow larger as they are.  Or, we can look the other way as they are flattened for the safety of all man kind.    I know there's rules of war but when you're fighting with someone that's has no rules how can you ever win?    They cut peoples heads off for God's sake.  They are barbaric animals.   They are a threat to the entire world.

   We will shoot down a passenger jet full of our own people if it's hijacked to save more lives.   Well, the middle east is a passenger jet breading ground and the heart of terrorism.   It's time to shoot it down. 
Nothing will ever work other than violence with these animals.

Like Europe doesn't have a history of habitual violence & wars, or something?  The only reason they toned down the fighting 70 years ago is because they were running out of people & stuff to destroy by 1945.  And modern technology caused warfare to be less effective at stealing wealth than it was before.  Weath became more based on technology & infrastructure at the same time that warfare was getting more physically destructive to those things. 


The USA/NA looks more peaceful because one group conquered everything so completely in a short period of time.  Right now our history is too short and we lack adequate ethnic divisions/etc to come to blows again for a while longer.

I don't think we lack ethnic diversity, after all we are the melting pot of the world.  I think it is just that when people came here they became Americans whereas over there they now try to bring their culture with them and convert the place that they emmigrate to into their culture.  When my family came here to the U.S. my grandfather told his kids we are Americans now, we will learn to speak english and become Americans.  That mindset is missing now.  I think if the Mexican imigrants had that same attitude today we would have less proplems with illegal immigrants here also.
