The only good thing about it is I paid of some bills that I kept paying high interest on for years & I may have time & money to work on that 1972 Bengal Charger :scratchchin: LEON.

A12 Superbee

I don't want to sound like an arsehole but for those wondering why it took so long to sell, I would say the color could be the reason. When I was looking for a Charger a couple of years ago, I would regularly ignore any that were that color, it was pretty much the only color I would not want a car in. I know some people love/like it, but I'm not a fan and I daresay I'm not alone.

Just my opinion of course in trying to answer your question.

Thats possible, At first when I seen the car & color way back around 1980 I did not really like it either & thought if I bought it I'd paint it black. But that was way back then. After I bought it I kinda liked the color. LEON.

That's entirely possible, and I concur.  I was recently looking at a 71 Cutlass convertible for 7500$...  Great frame/underneath/body, but had that puke green GM interior...  That kept me away, and now a flipper wants 15K for the car

Congrats on the sale Leon! I was mildly interested but it was a little too far away for me. I like the colors but was a little concerned about the damage and wondered why you hadn't fixed it.

Yes, there is a couple different threads on the 72 Bengal Charger if you do a search. Only 2 known to exist but most say or tell me a 72 & a 318 car is not worth the time or effort to fix or restore. I might anyways.  :scratchchin: :shruggy: LEON.

I did fix it a little by putting on the new (good Used) front bumper & grille. Just that cost me $1,500. The Problem was I could never find a good used original front Bumper & grill that was as good as mine. Mine had zero rust on all those bracketts behind the bumper & bumper bracketts ect & still wore original factory black paint. Every Donor I found had badly rusted bracketts, How do I put rusty bracketts on my car. Won't look right. So do I sandblast them, paint them black recrome the bumper, respray grill, get all new repro hardware, fasteners clips ect? Now I got a mint restored bumper that looks to good for my unrestored car. Either it's too good or not good enough. Finding something Identicle as what I had was impossible. If I mint out the bumper & grille & bump dents on fender & repaint fender then it's like I might as well give it a full blown Resto now. I could not afford to do that. Even If I do most of the work myself. Julius told the buyer $130,000 to restore it. Buyer told me that was to much for a Resto. I'd sure like to see some rich guy give Julius or somebody $130,000 to restore it. I can't afford to do it myself. LEON.

"The other kind of buyer a seller will see more often is someone looking for a deal more than a car."

Yeah, From qoute above this was 99% of the customers on my car. Last week somebody posted a link of the rust bucket on ebay for $15,000. I've had clowns low ball me a offer of $15k. I tell them go buy that rust bucket on ebay for $15k. The don't like that. :shruggy: LEON.

exactly what i would of done, dont like it...go buy another one

It's gets pretty tiring & dissapointing to find out 99% of the people are just wasting your time :brickwall:

I'm of the opinion the color should have helped it sell.  If the car would have been cut/buffed & professional pictures taken it would have helped a bunch,  :Twocents:

I've been pimping that car for I don't know how long.  When LL 1st put it up for sale ( I think you were asking a bunch more back then? ), I was trying to figure out a way after selling my A66 Challenger but ended up with Larry's '71 'cuda instead.

Thinking about it I'm not sure the bad color theory works. Because if somebody didn't like the color, then they wouldn't even bother to call or e-mail me. They'd just move on to the next cool color or high Impact color car wouldn't they? Then I wouldn't of even known they passed on my car because of color. If a Potential Buyer was to contact me then I'd guess they are OK with the color & if not why contact me at all? Not one person said they did not like the color but 99% of them tried to low ball me & take advantage of me & I did not accept any low ball offer so I'm guessing thats why I had a hard time selling. LEON. :shruggy:

as someone else already said not trying to be an A hole but I think the  a orange gut  had something to do with it . I love burnt orange as a exterior colour but a black or white gut would make or break the deal   :yesnod:  with me anyway    :shruggy:   just my  :Twocents:

OK, If someone did not like the orange gut or interior then I assume they just wouldn't call about it. Nobody said they didn't like the orange Interior. I'd say what mattered more then the color was the transmission, probably half the people asked first thing what trans did it have. I'd say Automatic. Then half of those halfs would then say not really Interested because I want or was looking for 4 spd. :Twocents:

yeah the 4 speed is a wanted commodity that's for sure
