Just a general question to any member who has either sold or tried to sell their cars recently. Did you get close to your asking price or value? What type of buyers did you attract? If your car didn't sell, were you deluged with tire kickers and low ball offers?

whenever i sold a charger or a mopar i always got what i was asking, although my prices were fair market value and not delusional. yes you will get ur low ball car flippers...and i actually kinda enjoy burning them with mopar knowledge and making them look like an idiot after they try to knock the car down. whenever i get a low ball offer i raise the price on my counter offer and say...its not a mustang, go find another one

I sold a  69 camaro a couple years back to buy my charger and i got close to what i wanted but not quite. But a charger its worth more i wouldn't take a low ball offer especially if its a gen 1 or gen 2. If you look on eBay theirs a ton of camaros not so many chargers. :Twocents:

How about from somebody who is about to attempt a sale ?
IMO,
Therein lies the age old difference in "perceptions" between Seller's and Buyer's, regarding what's considered "fair" versus "lowball" ?

I'll let you know, as I will probably try the market on mine fairly soon ? but I expect going into this to start "high" as a seller, and see how "low" any potential Buyer's respond ?
I believe somewhere "in the middle" after that process would be realistic ?

It's really tough setting "fair" value at the outset beforehand though ? without garnering opinions with for example "WIW Threads" on this Site ?... and we all know how popular those are !

I sold my 71 Charger SE in July. It was in very good shape, all body work done. A few issues. I checked what others in similar shape sold for on eBay for two months and what people were asking.
At the last minute I wrote up a little ad and grabbed an old pic and brought it to Carlisle. Was in the showfield with my 68 Charger. Taped the ad to the quarter window with my phone #. My wife and I left the show around 7:30 Saturday night. I said to my wife " Well, two full days in the show field and not one call, thought I might have it a bit over priced, will lower the price and start advertising it when we get home".
Two minutes later my phone rings, two weeks later I shipped the car off to Ohio. Got what I thought was the most I could get for the car based on the condition.
