I have 3 power boxes and all 3 will turn to the right all by themselves when the car is sitting still and running. Driving is a real treat because you have a steady pull to the right like it was out of line.
One of these was an over the counter rebuild with less than 50 miles on it.  Is there any way to fix the problem as the next step is either a Firm Feel box or sell the farm and get a Borgeson..

1. Make sure the spring is put in correctly.

2. Adjust the valve by SLIGHTLY moving up and down.  Small adjustments make a big impact.

Borgeson unit costs around $700 for the adapter and the box.  Not a bad price for something that will give you fast ratio steering and modern steering feel in a single unit...

The price I came up with is 600 for the box 195 for the coupler (not cut the shaft type)  and 115 for fittings and line as mine is the fitting that screws in not threads onto and possibly brackets for a Saginaw pump as mine is a federal. $910 without the pump brackets.

The shaft under the spring does turn  ?

Firmfeel Stage 3 is a third of that cost.  http://firmfeel.com/b_body_mopar_power_steering_box_rebuild.html

the input on top of the box needs to be adjusted....loosen the two bolts, tap the part forward or rearward to stop steering wheel from turning

Are the bolt holes in the top piece slotted ?

Has anyone used a Firm Feel box ?    Opinions ?

Yes, holes are bigger than the bolts to allow adjustment

You only need to tap a very small amount to make a big difference.

The Firm Feel Stage 3 is well worth the money!  I'm ordering one for my Charger.

Concerning the adjustment, get the front wheels off the ground so they don't add turning resistance.  Loosen the bolts ONLY enough to be able to move the fitting, you don't want a bunch of power steering fluid squirting out.  Start the car and make the adjustment, tighten the bolts, it's really easy

Oh yeah, the fittings lol.  Forgot about those, and for some reason I was told I didn't need them for my setup.  Now that I think about it, I was considering a stage 3 Firm Feel but I wanted the built in fast ratio of the Borgeson; can't get fast ratio with the Firm Feel and headers so that wasn't an option for me...

Its amazing the difference 1/32 to maybe 1/16 of movement will make on a box !!!   Thank you one and all  :2thumbs: :2thumbs:

That is what they say, but I say that they are just covering their asses. I have the 2" TTI headers, a Firm Feel stage 3 chuck and the Fast Ratio arms. They clear just fine. I even changed K members when I took a spare and welded and reinforced it. Two K members, same fitment. No problems, I have at least 1/2" of clearance, more than enough.

I went with the Fast ratio pitman and idler arm. This quickens the ratio from the stock 15.7 to approx 12 to 1. The Borgeson is 14 to 1 for comparison.
