Thought I was about caught up in getting this 440 motor to run and then to find out this water pump setup isn't going to work with my fuel pump I previously had bought for the OE 383.  What's on it now is a Holley 3310 vac sec dual feed but eventually going 6bbl.  So I want to get what will work for the future too.  I searched here for the Carter pump number for 6bbl to see what it looked like outlet wise and if it would work with the water hose where it is but I couldn't find the part number.  I hope my alternative isn't only an electric pump but I'll see what ya'll have to offer or recommend.  Thanks

Dino

I have the Carter M4845 on mine and it would clear that hose.  Actually there's several Carter pumps that have both inlet and outlet aimed at the passenger side and would work for you.  Google mopar 440 fuel pump and look at the pics, plenty options for ya!   :yesnod:
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

The Carter 120 gph "street pump" is the best mechanical to run from my experience. Mancini Racing is the only retailer that carries this pump. It was discontinued but Mancini somehow convinced Carter to start up production again and now has exclusive distribution rights. The street pump is regulated internally to give 6 psi fuel pressure. I've used several of these over the years with great results ; the last one on my old 446 that made 535hp/540tq and ran on pump gas  :2thumbs:

The M6903 pump has an adjustable inlet/outlet so you can make adjustments to accomodate different line locations  :yesnod:

Thanks, I ordered one and it was on sale too  :2thumbs:

Couple of things.  A 400 hp 6bbl motor does not need any more fuel than a 400 hp 4 bbl motor.

The orientation of the inlet and outlet on the old carter fuel pump ( now offered by Mancini) is adjustable

500" NA, Eddy head, pump gas, exhaust manifold with 2 1/2 exhaust with tailpipes
4150 lbs with driver, 3.23 gear, stock converter
11.68 @ 120.2 mph

Hard Charger

I have a similar pump on my stock 383.

it was flooding out my carburetor, the pump was pushing 10lbs. I needed to mount a regulator to dial it down.

I didn't expect to see this from a stock style mechanical pump.

There are a couple of those though.  Externally they look the same but one is a high performance street pump designed to deliver a little more than most of the Mopar oem fuel pumps.  The other is a race piece that can easily be too much.
