I don't know what a "Bumperette" is. :scratchchin:  :smilielol:

I never heard of that word until this internet thingie started.  :shruggy:

But, anyway... ::)

J.C. Whitney used to offer a wide array of "Bumper Guards"  ;) for all sorts of vehicles.

The local NAPA used to have them too, along with the Yosemite Sam mud flaps, Chromed curb feelers, reflectors, and all the other stuff our fathers would stick on the family station wagon or you'd see on the neighbor's Electra 225.

Just aftermarket accessories.  :Twocents:

Atleast they were better looking than opposed to now

Ain't that the truth, I think I'd rather have a bunch of dents back there than have that "parking buddy" or whatever its called hanging off the back of my car.

You see stuff like that on $100,000 cars all the time in the huge dense urban centers like NYC.

Bumper buddies are all over New York City area.  Some people will put them on only when they park in the city and then take them off as they do not look good while others leave them on all of the time.   We have one designated car to drive into Manhattan (not the Dodge Charger, Challenger for sure) but don't use the bumper buddies as they look quite bad

myk

I think I'd rather just put my classic on a flatbed and just drive around with it.  Car should be safer that way...

Ghoste

When I was in Monaco everyone parked by "feel" so I guess its the same in NYC and places like that?  I suppose it happens in every congested part of the world, I just haven't noticed.

So now we need a bumper for our bumper?
Daddy ran whiskey in a big black dodge
bought it at an auction at the masons lodge,
Johnson County Sherriff painted on the side,
just shot a coat of primer then he looked inside,
well him and my uncle tore that engine down,
I still remember that rumblin' sound.....
