It's still early with only 2 shows so far but what do you think about the concept of having these people witness the beginning of the end?  Does anyone think there will be an explanation for the source of the virus?  Would it still matter?

I don't think the source matters...actually it's better to not explain it...then you can go with what ever a warped tin foil wrapped mind wants it to be.....or ....something simple like GMO foods..... 
Ol Tobias saw it coming, he better figure out how to kill them quicker cause he aint strong enough to fight with them....
The scary part is people just ignore whats right in front of them.....a dead body gets back up and the crowd wants to go after the cops....go figure

I'm watching. So far so good. Although I have trouble with the notion that first responders still seem to be somewhat unaware of the threat. If those dying in hospitals suddenly popped up and started biting people you would think the info would spread pretty fast. And wouldn't cops figure out the headshot angle quicker?

I would think so...but as we saw the sheepel don't learn so quick they want to hang the cops when they pop them in the head.....
One thing Tobias was VERY VERY right about when things start down hill they pick up speed VERY fast, it's doesn't take much for society to lose it's hold on sanity ...

I have been waiting for...something, but this show may not remain a DVR candidate.  It's just not tickling my fancy.  Hopefully that will change.

Well.....yeah...it's centered more on how it started and what happened to society , right now anyway...and how different people react and cope....Travis is in denial and thinks the government is there to "help" Madison and Salazar on the other hand and figuring it out pretty quick...no communication with the outside from their "safe zone" .....Madison even bashed in the head of her friend and boss.....ol girl could be the west coast Rickanator...lol...
Rumor is this week some of the soldiers realize things are way worse than they are being told and start to just walk away.....I kind of like it just not the same way I like TWD. I think if they give it a chance to develop it could be ok...

I'm watching it as well.  The idea of watching the fall of society is interesting to me.  Not much has happened yet, but in typical Walking Dead fashion that may change later on.  Here's to hoping Alicia, the daughter, gets naked soon...

It's moving slow for us and the chemistry of the main characters is not up to par with the original show.  It almost seems B rated compared to the original.   Kinda predictable and not as intense.   The original show has you on the edge of your seat not knowing what's going to happen next.   Much better actors and writing with the original in my opinion.

The more I watch it and think about it...I'm not sure why the military wouldn't have an easier time dealing with the walkers. Why in gods name would you enter a confined building full of walkers. Just open the damn door and play loud music/noise outside....pick them off as they come out. Just stay out in the open with maneuvering room and play a war of attrition.

And just position snipers on rooftops to spend the day picking off walkers.

Ahhhh...but remember this is supposed to be how it all started..they don't know yet how the react to sound or light....if you notice it's only in the last episode or so that the army has figured out you have to shoot them in the head.....Remember in TWD we start when Rick wakes up from a coma alone in a hospital...we don't she how society breaks down or how people learn how to deal with the walkers....that's kind of what makes this interesting to watch...and it makes it slow to start because some people are in denial some just sit and wait for the government to come and save them....taken for what it is I still like it...

I'm trying to watch.  We are faithful followers of the original.  The people who did the casting should be shot.  Other than the kinda hot mom, I think they could have found more interesting characters at the local UDF.   Its so slow.  I know the execs gotta have a cast that looks like the "Its a small world ride" from Disney world but geez!
