I think my timing cover had the timing marks origionally on the drivers side of the motor I cant remember. It blew a hole in it and I biffed it ages ago.My current one which is off an Australian motor , is on the passengers side.
I am looking at purchasing a new one off ebay but these are ones that have the timing marks on the drivers side ..whats the difference ..and I am not a hundred percent sure what I origionally had  can I still set my timing alright with either side , I don't have electronic ignition and motor is a 318  :shruggy:

1969 and earlier small block engines, use a timing cover with the marks on the RIGHT side.
In America, that's the passenger side.
1970 and up engines, use a timing mark on the Left side, (Drivers side)
That's the difference.
You also need to use the correct vibration dampner, with the cover, or you timing mark will be off, or remark the dampner.

 looks like I have the correct one as my motor is stamped 10 16 68 and the timing mark is on the left hand side (passengers side ) of the motor  :2thumbs:
