How tight should the driveshaft yoke be in tailshaft?

Started putting in driveshaft and couldn't get it to go.  RD rebuilt the tranny years ago for me but until now it hasnt had the driveshaft installed in it.  I took a spare yoke, greased it good, and had to knock it in with a rubber hammer.  Could the new seals be that tight?   Any other time I remember just sliding it in.  Tranny was stored all this time without fluid or ran.

update:  After putting in the spare yoke and working it around it was still pretty tight but I did manage to get the other yoke on the driveshaft to firmly push in while rotating it at same time.  I reckon the new seals need a little stretching but hopefully means I got a good tight seal.

More likely the bushing in front of the seal is the tight point, not the seal. If you can get the yoke in at all, just lube it well and the bushing will "self clearance".
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.
