... Is going to delay my restoration!  We're looking at trading I my wife's 2010 Furious Fuschia Challenger R/T and ordering a new Plum Crazy Purple Charger Scat Pack model!  So much for completing my resto-mod 69 GL Gharger anytime soon.

It sounds like you have a keeper of a wife to want to trade up for a car that you will have a blast driving. You will still have your 69 at home to work on. Just think of how much fun it will be to make part runs.

These new challengers do offer much for the price.

I see many like yourself making a change in priorities because of that. I am one that feels that same push.

One thing is clear.  They are very different cars. The sec. gen charger is a world different.  If their is time and money for both that is good. If the sec. gen. charger needs another home their are many waiting for it. :Twocents:

BTW it is great fun to drive a new challenger for a while and then go for a drive in a 69 charger (for example).  The best of both are felt and it's --IMO not a competition. :2thumbs:

If it's one or the other, I say don't do it.  The new Mopes are great cars but my choice will always go with the old iron.  Besides, who wants another car payment?

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

I'm not getting rid of my 2nd Gen Charger! No way in hell!  We are trading in her Chally.  We looked at a blue one just like that Troy!  She loved it, but really wants a PCP Model.  I got a control number, so we will pay below invoice on what ever we decide.  I just hope we get a good trade value for her Challenger.

No offense to any new charger owner who loves the 4 doors hell I do too...they are great cars

But to the designer who said the 2015 charger is the same as the 69 charger is DRUNK!!!!!

Lucky you!

I would be pushing the wife pretty hard (THAT didn't sound quite right) to get a Scat Pack if I lived in a state with decent weather and driveable roads.

In ND we have neither.......so one RWD car that can only be driven 6 months a year is enough.

I am actually thinking of selling my 70 RT and getting a Scat Pac.

Health problems keep me from finishing the restomod in a reasonable time, and would also keep me from working on it once it is finished. I love the 70 RT's, had five of them growing up, but there is a lot to be said for reliability, comfort, and a killer sound system.

Have to think it would be a break even or better situation financially.

Don't think it could be a Charger though. Just can't get over the 4 door problem.

Wish I could say the same.  The new Chargers would be so much more badass if they weren't 4 doors.  I just shake my head every time I see one drive by.  Which is pretty frequent.
