Here's how the show was interesting.

Friday around noon I pick up my car out of storage. Friday night I fill the car up with Premium fuel. Saturday morning my car won't start. During the night or early morning someone siphoned the entire tank of gas from my vehicle. Not only that, they even stole my gas cap! So I went all around town looking for a gas cap for a '71 Dodge Dart. Finally the last auto parts shop just grabs various gas caps and starts to see if any fit. Luckily one finally fits and it's even a locking cap! The owner of the shop mentions that I'm the third person that morning looking for a gas cap and had my gas stolen. I decide I better report the incident to the RCMP who tell me I'm the eighth person to have reported it so far (by 9am). So I chock it up to a bad luck for me and continue up to Quesnel for the show.

Show went well, got sunburned, but had fun. The story of my stolen gas went around the show like wildfire and all the car people were bugging me about it. It even won me the "Hard Luck" trophy. A full sized trophy that is really nice actually. My friends with the red '67 Dodge Dart GT (the one later being loaded onto the flat deck) won 2nd Place Best Mopar.

So we are all getting ready to leave when my friend with the Dart mentions his wheel is leaning in at the top, never a good sign. I crawl underneath and spot the ball joint totally FUBAR'd (see picture)! What had happened was while driving to the show (last set of lights before turning into the park) the sun was in his eyes and he didn't notice that the light was turning red so he literally slammed on the brakes. Doing so somehow pushed the ball joint through the arm (shouldn't ever happen). He didn't want to mention it during the show so he waited until after. Well he had to have his Dart towed all the way back to Williams Lake.

Myself and the owner of the Red '66 Charger were there to help them unload it from the tow truck and push it inside his shop. I gave them my "Hard Luck" trophy. Figured anytime a car has to be towed home from a show is more "Hard Luck" than simply having gas stolen which in comparison is just a minor inconvenience .

So at this car show they also had the Hagerty Kids. These were kids selected from the community to be judges for the Hagerty award of the show. Out of the 224 cars, they selected ten finalists. They then went around and judged those. They asked very serious questions, asked to see if your headlights worked, etc. The trophy went to a '67 Corvette.



And here is what the trophies looked like the Quesnel club made. This is the "Hard Luck" trophy that I passed along to someone else.

Nice show. Surprised there were so many cars way out in the boonies like that.

About the video with the young girl in front of my car:

She requested this photo be taken. She really liked your car, Kyle, especially 'the eyes' and gave you DOUBLE checks with high marks in a few categories  that meant it was realllly really good!
