Lower control arm question

While disassembling the front suspension I have tried to remove the torsion bar receptacle from the LCA. The shaft and bushing pressed out but the piece that receives the t-bar seems to want to stay put. Does a person just blast this piece and then paint it with the control arm intact? Some pics I see have the LCA without it.  Thanks

What pictures have you seen with the torsion bar slot removed??? Most rebuilds it stays intact, gets blasted, painted, and new bushings installed.

Only thing you need to do besides bushings is make sure there is no slop for the torsion bar pivot shaft.

Yes, unless you grind off all the rivets holding the arms together and actually split the arm in two, which I wouldn't recommend. Any pictures you have seen without it must be of the other side without the pivot shaft.
