Not pertaining to your comment Charger-Bodie, just the whole dilemma.  Its like dumping a girl you love for another.  The new one Is younger and fresher, but doesn't have the class of the older one.  Yours will also look 10x better to you when someone else is driving it.

Some of us have played with cars for many years. We have bought and sold many. Some cars mean more than others to us for various reasons.
Speaking for myself--the need to move on or down size my passion is a practical question.  I do love the classic chargers and B bodies in general. I have chosen to buy a hellcat because I can. And I do intend to sell my C500 partly because of the purchase of the hellcat. The reason I intend to sell my C500 (in my case) is because I have enjoyed restoring and owning it for 40+ years and the time to move on is here. I also need the room and do not intend to end up with a big pile of cars for my kids to deal with.

The older gals have gained the important stuff and will retain it as long as they live.  Those of you with youth will know that only with time

I'd keep the Charger.

If you want a Hellcat save up for it, or get in on something lower down the ranks and have fun modifying it to your tastes.

You can really put your stamp on a bare bones R/T and build it how you want.  There isn't much left to do to a Hellcat right now...it would mainly be cosmetics to make it stand out as your own.  With an R/T at a fraction of the price (and wait) you could build to suit and have a more fun along the way.  I'm pretty big into late model Challys and while R/T guys and gals can make numerous upgrades, the SRT camp is already on a pretty solid foundation...the factory SRT gear can be improved upon, but it won't be as radical as stock R/T gear. 
For example,if you take an R/T and throw on Eibach springs, aftermarket sways, and a big brake kit with drilled and slotted rotors it is a noticeable improvement in both aesthetics and performance.  If you do that to an SRT you are going from a great set of brakes to a slight better set...your stance might change a little bit...you might shave a few ounces with the sway bars etc.  I don't know if someone like yourself would find satisfaction in that.  Also, if you are new to the late model stuff parts are VERY expensive...I can honestly get more bang-for-the-buck with Charger and Duster parts than I can for the late model Challenger...funny how that works.

Oh, and most importantly...you'd still have the Charger.

Good luck with whatever you decide...I think selling the Charger would be something you'd regret.  If I was in that boat I'd honestly just save up for a new Chally and enjoy both as often as possible!

When it comes to women and cars the same methodology applies:  more is better, assuming that you can afford it. 

Keep the older girl, and the younger one. 

Keep the Charger, and get the Hellcat. 

You only live once, might as well get the most out of it...

Honestly though, keeping the 68 is the best decision to be made here.
