Im looking for some 450 wheels for my bird. But im not sure what day and month dates would be or should correct for it. Does anyone have any original 450 wheels with date codes with there bird so I can at lest know about what dates I should be looking for? Get an idea of whats acceptable. even a pic of month codes would be wonderful! thanks r

Well the 450 wheel was new for 1970 so I would guess there might be some dated for July/1969. They are expensive enough as it is but its always nice to find 4 wheels with the same dates. What dates codes are on the other parts of your car? If it were me I'd be happy with some stamped sometime during the calendar year of 1969. But again these wheels are very sought after and a set of four with matching dates seem to bring a big premium. I thought A12 H-wheels were expensive until I started looking for the spare for my Rallye Rim equipped Charger.

well My car has a build date of 12/15. so I wasn't sure what would be acceptable. Meaning 3 months before. 2. or 1. Or more. I wasnt sure. Or if even rims build the same month or even 4 days before? r

It may become a function of "what can I find?"  (ignoring any budget limitations)  That seemed to be the case with a lot of my specific/date-driven parts searches.  Then, I kept the search going for any available "improvement" from what was sitting on the shelf or on the car.

IMHO, find most any decent set (dated before your car's Clairepoint delivery date) & buy them -- especially a set of 4 matching dates, as Dave mentioned.  You can always off-load that set later on if an even better set materializes.

I found with H-wheels they were made on specific days....I assume 450 wheels would be the same. Up to a couple of weeks before your car was assembled would be prime, but I think date coded to each other would be acceptable before the assembly date. Happy hunting.

Not everybody on here knows what a 450 or an H wheel is.    :brickwall: :shruggy: :smilie_help:  ??? :popcrn: :popcrn: Rick.

H-wheel that I was referring to is a 1969 15x6 steel wheel
450 wheel is 1970 15x7 steel wheel.
