I have heard about early 68 Charger trunk floors being different from the rest. Can someone shed some light on what is different?

as far as I know , the only difference  , apart from a few plug holes ,  is the  gas tank filler hole in the trunk floor , different size & shape  :scratchchin:  , I await to be corrected

Floors specifically? Or trunks in general? Early cars had braces behind the taillights and the trunk lids themselves were different.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Trunk floor pans specifically.

Tan-top mentioned the filler tube being different. Is there a different filler tube or is it just a different grommet that fits the floor pan?

tan top

filler tube is the same ,

the raised part of the trunk floor is slightly wider for later cars ,  & the  trunk floor seal is wider &  slightly different shape  , , don't think the early seal has been repoped , well never use to be  , only the later one has / is

I don't think this has been pointed out but the trunk gutters on the early 68's are also different. The round area the bumpstop touches is a different shape. I have a early 68, a late 68 parts car and a 69 parts car to verify this. I know its a very minor difference but its one nonetheless.
