I am trying to remove the LCA Struts.

How should I remove the roll pin in the front before the nut?

Gripping with pliers and tapping with a hammer don't seem to work, as the former look like it is crushing it and the latter mushrooms it.  I tried both on one side VERY GENTLY, so I don't make anything worse.

I think I might have to drill them out, but thats tought with them so small.

Any ideas? If I drill them, is there any reason they cannot be replaced with cotter pins?

Thanks again.

Try soaking with PB Blaster then tapping it out with a pin punch.

Why not cut it off near the rod and then drive it out with a punch?

I agree

and then just replace it with a new one... no reason to reuse the old one

Since I won't be able to work on it until this weekend I'll keep soaking it and try to drive it out with a punch.  If that doesn't work I'll whip out the Dremmel and cut it.  Always better to check with 32 year old parts before cutting stuff off.

I'll let you know how I make out.
