Does anyone have some advice on getting these out without hurting the panel?
This screw fell out on its on but I cant budge the others, using a small flat screwdriver.

this is from 73 charger

I had my dash sitting on my dining room table before we reinstalled it.  I couldn't get those things to budge.
I ebded up just finding a new panel.   :shruggy:

I figured it out.
They can be tapped from the vent side with a punch, enough to get a small flat to pry gently on the head of the pin. Then the 2 that are side by side are still held together by a metal dowel in the center. Simply pull to each side and lift. I'll post pics if anyone is interested.

Most definitely   :popcrn:

Step one is to drive the end nail outward from the vent side

be careful since this is all plastic, but if you brace the frame against something metal, make sure your punch is pushed against the head with firm pressure before hitting it. then give it one gentle tap. The sole purpose is to see if you can get access to the head of the nail on the other side.

Find a small flat screwdriver and simply pry the head. One warning: Make sure you dont loose track of the nail once it releases. It would be a real pain to try and find replacements.

The single vent has a nail on each side.
The double vents have one nail each on the outer edge. The middle is held in with a metal dowel. No need to remove this, in fact its not easy to remove. Rather simply pull the vent away from center as you lift.

These little buggers eluded my attention after gathering parts and putting them in a bag. They simply fall out when removing the vents. They must be installed one each side of single vent and one each on outer sides of double. They keep the vents stiff for positioning.

Vents removed and ready to put back together. I painted the woodgrain the body color of the car.

Nice work :2thumbs:

A little off topic but on the Charger script removal. Is it just a carefully wedge and pry process? I don't want to break mine trying if it's not the correct procedure.

Thanks

The charger emblem has three studs each has a small metal attachment with protrusions to hold them in. So yes your guess is correct, use whatever tool you feel comfortable with, I used a very small flat head screwdriver, and push on each one, from side of each stud and downward. Just be careful and if it looks like its gonna break then back off.
