I just received my statement from Hagerty and again they have raised my policy.  We're well over $400 now for a car valued at $30K.  It was less than $300 not that long ago.  Any Michigan members here that found a better deal?

Something's not right, either on your policy or mine.  My car's agreed value is just under 50 (not that it's worth half of that) and I'm in the low 300's.  Could it really be because of Michigan?  I need to review my policy...

Dino

Yes we have no fault so we do pay a higher premium.  My beef is with Hagerty raising the cost substantially every damn year.  Is this why I have a perfect driving record?  Just ticks me off that they have their own version of how inflation is supposed to work.

I got a quote from Grundy, same coverage, agreed value, all that jazz, AND better roadside coverage all for under $300.  I'm still trying other companies as well but it looks like my run with Hagerty has come to an end.

American collectors was just under a grand by the way.   :eek2:

NCM is just over $330 but that's only when the alarm and gps tracker are installed.

All of these quotes are for a modified car with the possibility of driving wherever and whenever, including to work.

And they say that no-fault insurance is supposed to reduce rates...

Dino

Yeah right!  Insurance companies always try to save you a few bucks.

It has its pros but for someone who has never been in an accident in 20+ years it doesn't do much.   ;)

as you know im on the other side of the state. My wife works in insurance, I got hagerty thru her agency.

When i got the car little over a year ago, it was about 425 for a year, car valued at 30,000

We got our new bill and it was 450

went up about 25 dollars or so......I did ask my wife (not that she works for hagerty or anything)

She said she didnt know why it goes up, but it could be there is more classics on the road now, then there was 2,3,4 years ago, so there is more risk for a accident

take your policy to a place that sells grundy, have them match your policy apples for apples...if they are cheaper, switch

I do know that hagerty includes alot of extras most dont even know about

What Myk said.   ;)

It's not just the current raise in rate, it's the previous one as well.  $127 in 2 years seems a bit steep to me.  What will it be next year?

That's indeed included but only if you're 10 miles or less from home.  I pay more to have some extra distance, 100 miles I think.  NCM will give you nation wide coverage for $10/year which includes towing the car to the shop of your choosing and paying for your travel expense and lodging.  I'm not going to need that though, but it's a nice cushion to have.   :yesnod:
