Has anyone ever converted a column shifter to a console or know of anyone that has or how hard it is to do? This would be an auto tran for a 69 Charger RT with 440

Its relatively easy if you can find the parts and have the tools. You need the column, shifter, rods and brackets, console and mounting brackets. You'll have to cut a hole in the floor and be able to weld in the console brackets.

Just this month I saw an ad for the column collar (without the column-shift provisions) being reproduced.

You would need the factory's metal brackets welded to the floor to bolt the console into place.  I'm not sure but AMD or somebody probably reproduces those too.

From there, it should be a parts-collecting job for the shifter assy, linkage, and console.

Still have the ad, or remember which company was making the collar?

Amd reproduces the console brackets and Classic Industries part # MP14050 is the column shifter eliminator.

i have cut and ground out the the shifter lever of a column shift, then epoxied a piece of metal over the gap, bondo'd and painted. couldnt tell it was ever there. i just didnt wanna have to hunt for a floor shift column.

Thank you for the classic industries part number.

Also, thank you for the do-it-yourself method too. I think I remember a thread on FBBO where someone detailed that process.

I know this is for a auto - 4 speed swap but some of the info might benefit you!
Daddy ran whiskey in a big black dodge
bought it at an auction at the masons lodge,
Johnson County Sherriff painted on the side,
just shot a coat of primer then he looked inside,
well him and my uncle tore that engine down,
I still remember that rumblin' sound.....
