What if everyone had a hellcat would everyone be considered cool?

Do you consider Mustangs and Camaros cool?   ;)
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

I'm already cool, no Hellcat required.  :nana:

A fat bank account or good credit doesn't make a person cool. Dirty tirbin is a good example of that.

If it's a special edition like the Hellcat... then yes. A camaro ZL1 or New Z28 definitely road race bada$$ cars. Mustang Shelby GT500 is equally a bada$$. It's just like the late sixties were everybody has the Camaro, Mustang, and Challenger. Nobody really cares because you see them all the time now. It's the special badging/graphics or accents letting the car nut know a Bada$$ is in the lane next to you. Luckily the Hellcat is the top of the heap for horsepower.  :icon_smile_big:

The big difference today is nobody can afford the cool ones except a lucky few...  :brickwall:

Coolness comes from within.   I'm cool no matter what I drive.   I might not look cool while driving a minivan with kids but I'm still cool.  Guys that think that they need the cool cars or things to make them cool are usually the same guys that peaked in high school.    :Twocents:

But to answer the question, the answer is yes, yes we would all be cool if we all had a Hellcat.

The hellcat is a cool car.---It can be owned and or driven by anybody.  Cool or not.

Back in the day of muscle cars (late sixties and seventies for me) I had a few and never considered myself cool. My cars got attention and I always felt like just the pilot.  ::)

Also I recall the dead beat crowd I ran around with could hardly afford their own food.   That I could buy a new muscle car was way over the top for them. ---Some of them also needed a place to stay and bathe. :eek2:

I've had a long successful career, made some good decisions at the right times, saved my extra money, etc.  Now I can write a check to buy my hellcat without dipping into my retirement accounts.  :nana:

I guess I would be considered one of the lucky few but I made my own luck and now I can play in financial comfort. ---And I still don't feel wealthy--- :scratchchin:

Yes, but until then, those of us who do have them are really, really cool.

The car is cool...Not the person owning it...I was debating also ordering one last year sat in the dealers chair and went through the motions and then thought about it...invested my money instead and have almost doubled it  ;)..Now that's cool

You are right about investing money as being cool. :2thumbs:---To be able to double your money is way cool unless it took 30 years to do it. Then it is just a fair investment.

For someone raising a family and working on their career buying a hellcat may not be a good choice. (depending on the financial impact).

In my case I have raised my family and have invested for my future.  For me the future is now. I am glad this car came along when it did because it fits well with my situation.

For you -reworked- and many others that are tempted to make a rash decision because of how cool this car is now. My advice is to hold on.  :icon_smile_wink:  There will be much more to come and if a poor financial decision is made early in life it compounds the effort to recover from it. Your regret might only be realized when you run the numbers when you are at retirement age. :eek2:

What I would propose for those like --reworked-- is to keep an eye on these cars (duh) and in a couple of years or sooner you  will find a good deal on a used one. That will give you the fun of how the car is and save a bundle for what you will need for the hottest thing going when it comes up and your life choices have made it a good time to play.

Very well put ws23rt!....

A car that anybody can buy from any dealer might be cool but only a unique one-of-a-kind built car can be way cool.  :2thumbs:

This is the definition of Cool...........It's the man that makes the car, not the other way around.....

Buying an expensive new/old car with heaps of money is NOT cool...
Re-building a forgotten wreck into cool car on a budget, with a loving family is COOLIO!!! :pity:

I never had a new car and never want one either. :rotz:
My nearly fifty year old Charger, does it for me...
I know its cool, you don't have to tell me or agree with me, I JUST KNOW!!!

Just watch 'TOP GEAR' UK and you will be told by Jeremy and crew what's cool...
Its either on the COOL-Wall or its NOT... :scratchchin:

So Steve McQueen in a rusted out Chevelle makes the Chevelle cool?   ???  Ain't buyin' it.

The whole "McQueen = cool" thing has sort of been overplayed.   The fact that he is dead certainly helps enhance the legend.    It is true that he was a real car guy and motorsports enthusiast and racer.  He certainly owned a number of bucket list cars.   In other aspects of life, I would say that he was far from a perfect person.

Cool isn't really a term used these days, not much at least.  Its a cool car, yes, and its a fast car, but do the graphics or badges set it off from  other cars of the same make and model? not really.  If you want attention with your car, the charger will do it and a new challenger gets LOTS of attention on the street, and mine is only an RT Classic with a TA hood. (and its 5 years old now).

I don't regret not buying a hellcat.  If I had more money than sense, i'd get one.  The challenger is a nice riding vehicle on its own, put a real motor in it and it will become a legend in its own right.  5 years from now, we should be able to find hellcats used for 35k to 45k and it may be smarter to get one then.

One time in your life, it is ok to make a stupid decision car wise.  I do recommend those of you that are younger than I am to save up and buy your dream car, be it something old, or something new.  Don't however buy them for investments, they don't perform on par with other stock investments.

Just one?   :shruggy:

Some will think about it way too long, and miss their chance. Some may over indulge and end up like the rest of us, with daily drivers, "spare" or backup cars, and collections gathering dust in garages worldwide.  But if you do more than one, expect to be poor a lot, or find a well paid occupation.

I've made a mistake or two buying cars, but made some good choices too, and always enjoyed driving something peppy.

When one reflects about what a good or bad decision was made buying a car----Is it not usually the case that at the time the motivation was not about the future value of the decision?

When we look back on those decisions with the eyes we have now we see different things then what happened back then.

What we do have today is the memories of those days and perhaps some more fun with the cars that were a part of those days.

It has been said so many times in so many ways----this is not a business for most of us.  We are having fun with stuff from before and it is not doing us any good to lament about what could have been.

Some folks have always wanted something and never acquired it.  Others have acquired the things they wanted and now are burdened with what to do with them. :shruggy:

What is a mistake in buying an old car you always wanted?-----Is it the value of the deal one makes today?  Is it the value of the reason for the purchase?   Is it the fun of the remembering and playing some more?

I've missed and/or lost many perhaps great deals over the years but they were all something I wanted to have fun with. If I had them all and turned top dollar for all of them I would have a fat bank account.  I could turn that into gold and pet it like some pet the car. :shruggy:

I guess I'm speaking to the older sort of us about this.   I am past acquiring money for the future. I am living my future and am spending what I planed for.

Your wish has been granted.  Everyone can have a Hellcat Challenger for a whopping price of $.94.  Hot wheels has them available, complete with hellcat logo.  I picked one up tonight.

But, I suppose you was talking about the full size model :P

I'm buying two... Just harder to fit into the drivers seat on those little guys...   :nana:
