going to look at a 70`challenger, originally a 318 4spd. now its plum crazy 440 4spd, 440 borred, probably 0,40, ported alu heads, highlift cam, edelbrock alu intake, MSD ignition, x-pipe exhaust with headers. holley DP carb.
runs rough under 2000rpm.

the owner have now changed the carb to an original carter! isnt that to small for this engine?

thanks for input

No way to know without getting a closer look at the car.

Since you're going to look at it yourself, you'll be the best judge of that car's condition. All we can do here is speculate.  Post some pictures if you can...

okey, he changed the carb to get it idle better. but it worked fine with the holley dp last year. it was also hard to drive slowly with the rough idle.

post some pics later.
price is 25000+/- dollars

Don't know what you mean by too small.  It can run fine with a two bbl.

500" NA, Eddy head, pump gas, exhaust manifold with 2 1/2 exhaust with tailpipes
4150 lbs with driver, 3.23 gear, stock converter
11.68 @ 120.2 mph

That is true.....

It wont perform well when you step on it but at idle and up to 2K rpm it should not matter at all what carb you have on top of it.

Can be anything from a vacuum leak upto a fubar engine....

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

If it's a Carter Thermoquad then it's definitely not too small.    ;)
