6 pack air cleaner hood clearance

Hi. I have a 70 charger with a 440, an Edelbrock Dual plane intake manifold and a Edelbrock 800 cfm thunder series carb. I want to put a 383 6 pack air cleaner in it.  Does anybody know how much I will have to take off the air cleaner base so that I'll have enough hood clearance?  Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Which intake manifold? RPM or Performer RPM?

I did this mod on my 69 with the performer RPM intake and ended up taking about 3" out of the base. If you have the performer manifold it will require less to be taken out. The way I did it was I cut out the base and welded in a flat air cleaner base, that gave me the clearance I needed.
