a guy who is close to me has a 8 3/4 out of a 66(i think)and he says that the spring pearch mounts are the same width(?)everything i have says no,but ill buy it if it will-anyone?

Well the track is wider on the 3rd gen so I can't imagine the spring perches are the same.  They could be but I doubt it.

As Chryco said "no" the perches do not line up.

I just did a 8 3/4" axle swap on my 74' Charger this winter.  Without moving the perches you have to have a 71=74 b body.  I used a 8 3/4" froma 72' Roadrunner.  It fit perfectly.  And the brakes just swapped over from my 8 1/4"

it can fit, you just have to move the spring perches out 1.515" on each side and have them re-welded on.  But... and I mean BUT... you may be running into backspacing issues with your rims due to the axle flange being closer to the springs which will defeat your purpose.

2nd solution is to get a spring relocation kit, buy the axle and you will have plenty of room for your rims/tires.  You will have to buy a wider rim though and get a proper backspacing to match it though.  But it would look damn cool! hehe :D :D
