It has a lot going for it, from the modern goodies to the craftsmanship...but damn this thing is fugly!   :eek2:

Someone seems to like it though, that's on pricey Charger!

Build nice drivers, not stupid show(off) cars.

It looks like it is sitting on four flat tires.

Am I missing something here...it don't look "Chopped" to me.  If it is, its very mild almost to the point of "why even make the effort".   And, I don't care for the "in the weeds" look on a Charger...leave the low riders to the Chevy crowd.....But then I'm not bidding on it so it doesn't matter one way or another....

To me it is a lot of wasted work that could have been put to better results.

:iagree:  I like most Charger restorations (stock, old school muscle, lowered resto-mod) but it seems most SEMA builds are over the top.  I doubt the builders break even on the build, but try to promote their name with the build used as a marketing tool.  :Twocents:

Very hard to improve on one of the most beautiful shapes in automotive history.

As I don't own one, these cars stop me in my tracks when I see them from, especially from a distance.  Last Saturday, I saw a '68 Charger from pulling in across the street to get gas.    I thought, "what a perfect car".

Ghoste

That is pretty much how I've always felt about it too Doug.  To me, some things are perfect the first time and these Charger customs are new Coke at best and mustaches on the Mona Lisa in most cases.  At worst they are the hottest girl you ever saw transformed into some sort of Rebel Wilson Roseanne Barr bastard.

They forgot to put leaf springs and t bars in that one..... :D

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

myk

What a waste.  If they were to give that car to me, I'd fix it for free though...

six-tee-nine

I can apreciate these clean engine bays though. However I guess this engine doesnt run since its lacking radiator hoses and prolly alot of other stuff to make it run.
I gained wisdom enough over the years that if you build a car like that you regret every mile you put on it because it will never shine as it did when the odo said 0000000.

lot of time , work , fabrication ,  money   gone into that  ,   :yesnod:  the guys who built that , have skills & imagination , that for  sure !  :2thumbs:

but imo they have completely destroyed , the most beautiful shaped car ever made  :yesnod:

cant figure out  , why they still keep using rubber bands  for tires !!    wondering have they  actually driven these cars ,  in real life situations on the street  :scratchchin:

was about to post all the pictures , here  , but it says all pictures are copy righted , & can not be reproduced  :-\    :shruggy:

makes sense , really when you look at what they have done to a second generation , I would not want pictures of it posted everywhere    ;)

its at $146.100.00  now  ,  IMO   i think its insane ! :image_294343:   still ,  each to their own , if the buyer & seller are happy , who am i to argue  ,  :shruggy:

no offence meant  to anyone       :leaving:

Well its airbag suspension.. it can be raised, then some different wheels and it'll be a pretty neat car.. but for 150k+ you could build one  :shruggy:

Description say's it cost $375,000 to build. LEON.

1965gp

Looks like solid and extensive craftsmanship but the interior really dates it. Wheels can be changed, air bags will adjust the ride height- but that interior screams 2008. Remember the mini trucks in the 80's with gray tweed interior? This is going to look like that in ten years. All of the technology will be outdated as well as the style and materials.

My dad has a saying "Stick never goes out of style" and I am really starting to buy in.

I'm sure it cost at least that much.  Too bad they'll only see a fraction of that cost, if it ever sells...

Is there ANY way to dump $200,000+ into a (non-stock) muscle car that WON'T look utterly dated in 15 years?

It doesn't say chopped but rather cropped. Not sure what cropping is. I know dropped, tubbed, and shaved. Never heard of cropped.

That's where they make the picture smaller.   :icon_smile_big:

the drawings look a lot better than the car

RoscoePColtrain

I can appreaciate the time, work, and craftsmanship, but... no...

cbrestorations

that car didnt cost a half of wht they are claiming it took to build it, that chassis and suspension is 20k at the most unless they build it them selves then even cheaper, fugly wheels and tires 5k most, paint and body 20k at the most, 30k in engine and trans at the very most, fugly interior 15k at the most. thats 90k and lets add another 10k for misc. crap. so that car could not of cost more than 100k to build. if it was then they are not good at what they do or paid to have it done. i would never buy it even if i had the $, ide rather take home a real wing car for that much

Ghoste

Chopped, cropped, topped, lopped.  Call it whatever you want but a turd smells the same whether you call it caca, poopoo or shite.

Exactly. $100k to build, but since it was built in a shop by request of the previous owner, typical retail markup means that owner paid over $200k. He's had it for a while and figures the market has appreciated significantly, of course we have inflation, as well as the Barrett Jackson and Mecum effect, hence $300k.

Probably a bogus auction to date.  Get a couple of buddies to bid the price up and hope a chump jumps in and bids more. If one of his buddies win, the seller will just tell ebay that the buyer was bogus in order to not pay their auction fee   :Twocents: .

It seems kind of odd to match an old-school drive train with the slickster interior/exterior. I would have expected to see a modern engine and OD trans.

I don't think so. E bay is in it for the money. If someone wins they will want their cut. but what do I know, you may be right.

Yeah,  there are ways to wiggle out of sellers fees.  Sure way to tell if this is happening is buyers with no feedback so when they are reported as non-paying, it doesn't matter that their account get suspended.

Beautiful work, don't care for the finished product but some definitely talented people built that hot rod.   :2thumbs:

This car is probably meant for someone that has obscene amounts of money and is extremely bored. Is it wrong for me to hope that the guys that build this car lose their ass and maybe learn a lesson? LOL
