Great new band.....
The Golden Grass.

I posted this on facebook but wanted to share it here, too. Last night I went to see Deep Purple & took my daughter Kate & her friend Kalina who both loved it. Yeah, the band is up there in age, but they still put on an awesome show & won over 2 more fans from another generation. Last time I saw them was in the early 80's for The Perfect Stranger tour, but I have to say that seeing them in a smaller venue & not an arena made it a 1000 times better.

The opening band was called "The Golden Grass" & reminiscent of the late 60's early 70's. I could hear the influences of Hendrix, Trower, Sabbath, Deep Purple & thought they were great. https://www.facebook.com/thegoldengrass?fref=ts

In Deep Purple, Steve Morse replaced Ritchie Blackmore & Don Airey for Jon Lord (who passed away). I saw Steve Morse with the Dreggs, also back in the early 80's, & really enjoyed his playing last night, he's an incredible guitarist. They opened with Highway Star & closed with Smoke on the Water. When they came back out for the encore they played another 4 or 5 songs for another half hour & surprised me by playing Hush in that set.

Sorry for the crappy pic, that's my $14 flip phone that makes it look like I sat further away than I did.....LOL.... I was in the front row of the loge of the balcony that was probably 75 feet or so from the stage.
