How much would pay for one ?

DeltaV

Guns are like cars...requires test drives. You may very likely discover that there is another brand or model that better fits you...feels better, etc.

I've seen Gen3's go for under $500 and Gen4's go for near $600. Like DeltaV says, if you haven't test driven one at a local range, do it.
If you have already test driven the 17 and prefer it, see if you can find a low mileage model at a local gunshop. I've bought a number of used firearms over the years, most with low mileage, and anywhere between 50%-70% of the cost of a new model.  Surprising the number folks who don't test drive first at a local range and once they make a purchase, they fire one box through and decide it is not for them.

It depends, I'd pay more for a G17 RTF2, which is all I run. Some might prefer the gen 4 frame texture to the RTF2 though. RTF2s would be tough to find new, unless there's some Vickers Tactical FDEs still kicking around.
