What's the difference in a K member on a big block and a small block car on a 1973

I believe there's a slight difference in the for/aft position of the motor mounts.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Quite a few years ago I had a big block and small block K frame side by side and was surprised at how similar they were. I'll have to do it again and take measurements/pics. I remember taking measurments, but never wrote them down. Wish I did.

THEY ARE... what doesn't mean a block interchange keeping the K member won't fit. Yes, a big block could fit on a SB K member and backwards BUT you could get aligment issues, same as tranny linkage issues for same reason. You can make them fit tight despiting that. It has being done locally in Venezuela for years, changing 400 engines which they came in from factory for a more conventional and spare parts stock availability 318s and nobody has taken care of the diff K member.

Mostly sure there is a reason there for driveline vibrations and stuff like that that many ppl locally reports and nobody thinks on that.

I tipically see also tranny mounts with enlargened holes to fit them

I bought the kmember to my car from a salvage yard and it had a build tag that said it had a 400 in it so that's the kmember I bought painted and put poly bushings in but if your pictures are correct it's a small block kmember witch sucks.ive been looking at those conversion kits and it kinda looks like a pain in the ass but probley not as bad as redoing a already rebuilt kmember

The perches on the motor mount don't look as wide on the kmember marked big block as they do on the small block is there a difference in that measurement ?
