neutral safty switch

Is their away to test the nss out of the transmission? And how can I tell if it is bad in the car? I turn the key and nothing happens.  New battery installed.  Ignition switch?

 Will car start with switch byassed.inside trans theres parts that touches switch think its plastic  

,switch can be bad and linkage adjustment or lever in trans.  with switch in trans and a ohmeter moving gearshift see a reading on the pins

It will try and start with a screwdriver touching the starter relay terminals.

Switch has 3 prongs neutral switch and reverse light des your reverse lights work also wiggling shifter can get it going maybe check  linkage
