Consider this a warning to all. John Manush from Burlington, Iowa at 2K inc. has serious customer service, anger, and communication problems! I would not recommend using his instrument panel restoration services to anyone! To make a long story short, I sent him my instrument panel to have the gauges refaced and checked. I also wanted the woodgrain re-done and the chrome around the borders of the panel restored as well. The chrome and woodgrain was done nicely, but not by him. He sends those away. So back to the story. Couple months go by and he contacts me in June saying my instrument panel was almost done. He was just waiting for the woodgrain to come back from wherever it was. Up to this point, I had no trouble communicating with him via email. He never called. I always had to be the one to call him. So June comes and goes with no word from John. 1st week of July comes around and all of a sudden I get an email from him which contained about 4 messages that he had evidently sent back in june. He was irate in the email threatening me with late payment fees and freaking out wondering why I wasn't responding to him. Evidently, my local phone company, who I receive my email service through had problems that I was unaware of, so I had no idea he had been trying to contact me until I saw his messages when they finally all came through. I immediately called him and told him I would have paid immediately if I had know everything was done. I went on to explain that I never received any of his messages until that one day in July. He didn't listen at all. He wrote me off as a liar and a low-life like all his other customers (according to him). I reminded him that he had both my cell and home phone numbers and asked him why he never called! He hung up on me. That same day I sent him a certified check from my bank along with a tracking number. He gets the check, and I get no response. I called to ask when he was going to ship it. As soon as I identified myself he hangs up. A week goes by and I hear nothing. So I call his house and talk to his wife and get nowhere with her. I asked for a tracking number for my instrument panel. Nothing. Finally my instrument panel does show up in one piece thankfully. The last thing John Manush said to me was F*** you. Real customer service huh? I would never recommend this guy to anyone. I still am shocked and baffled by this whole ordeal just because he wouldnt dial my number! Beware!! I know he goes to the nationals and other mopar shows!

The job appears to be ok for what he did. I had him put a factory looking tach in place of the clock. He painted the needles on the gauges but didn't bother to paint the tach needle to match since it was a little different color than the other gauge needles. That is a major detail I would have not let him get away with if I had known about it! I haven't put the cluster in the car yet to see if he sabotaged the gauge inner workings yet....never did get my factory clock back. He decided not to send all my property back to me evidently

Once they get the $ they dont care. I had a similar run in with tri city plating.

I get that the vendor may have been burned in the past by genuinely bad customers, but it's on the proprietor of a business to maintain their professionalism and courtesy to those that don't even deserve it.  He DID have your numbers after all, although maybe he just doesn't like confrontation.  In any case, I hope your cluster works out...

400sforever

thanks I hope it works too for what I spent on it! It still just baffles me...there wouldn't have been any confrontation if he hadn't of freaked out when I told him I honestly didn't get his email messages until that day. And then when I reminded him that he had both my phone numbers and never called me once, he just hangs up and refuses to speak after that. The same day I send him a certified check immediately with a tracking number. That alone should have proved to him how ridiculous and childish he was being. Oh well there are plenty of other places that can re-face those gauges.

This guy did the work timely in my opinion, but it was his insane crazy hissy fit over something so stupid as an email I honestly did not get in a normal time frame. Again, I was the first one to call immediately and remedy the situation only to find that his mind was made up and I was just a dead-beat...(EVEN THOUGH HE NEVER CALLED ONCE to see why I wasn't responding to his email!! crazy!)

I would've posted about it too, but then emailed him the links to the threads.

do you still have his emails? What was the date on them that he sent them? It will be in the main part of the email at the top

Scaregrabber

Ahhh: Honestly I probably wouldn't have believed you either. The Mopar world does have a lot of deadbeats in it, maybe he's had a run of them lately and has just lost his faith. On the other hand after communication you sent the money right away, that should have reset him and he should have treated you properly after that. Too bad it happened like that.

I understand him being pissed if he had called me on the phone and I didn't respond....but he never called once to find out what was going on..thats what baffles me

he sent one on june 23rd saying I was late with my payment (however that email never came to my inbox..it came along with  another one on july 11th which is the first one I received..( and was when I immediately called to tell him that I hadn't heard anyting from him).he uses some strange email system where all the messages he had tried to send all came in one actual email...maybe its a smart phone thing, I don't know because I don't have one. still doesn't excuse his behavior or the fact he couldn't just call me on the phone like a normal business would have done.

Regardless, HE SHOULD HAVE CALLED with his payment concerns. If he relied 100% on email transaction only... the fault is with him.  :Twocents:

skip68

Yep.  It obviously wasn't worth a phone call to him so he can't be that worried about a payment.    :rotz:
Not good business practice on his end.

is this an actual business or does he just do this out of his home? Tried to look up a business called "2K Inc" and came up empty. How does he promote his "business" and how did you hear about him?

I will have to go to fbbo and see that too.. haha that ought to be interesting. I'll go read it and see how many lies hes putting on there. He does this business out of his home. I think I did an internet search looking for dash panel restorers and it led me to a thread I think on for b bodies only where I saw his information.

his account on there is unbelievable! He's threatening for b bodies only with lawsuits if they don't take my business review down. I responded to everything he said on there so I guess that's all I can do. I'm very thankful there are others out there that reface gauges and know how to communicate with a good old telephone. If you guys take anything away from this, insist on phone calls for every step of your parts restoration process!

400sforever, I looked over this thread and looked at the response on FBBO.  I don't know what the truth is.

But you really seem to have some energy about this and it really seems like you're going above and beyond providing a review of services.  You're here trying to ally DC and FBBO against Mr. Manush, it's triangulation.  It's as if your inability to let it go is exactly proving Mr. Manush's assertions about you.

I would say "quit while you're ahead", but in my estimation it is now "quit before you make an ass out of yourself".   :Twocents:
