Green Mountain Falls Colorado is at 7800' elevation and I live at 8465', a few miles "Up" the road.

Beside the GL there was a 1st generation Charger...

Driving home I took a pic of "Kermit the Frog" laying on his back. Can you see him? Look at the outline of the sky and trees.

If he turned around the other direction you would see Pikes peak, a 14000 foot plus mountain!  Here is a picture where I was last weekend about 40 miles north of where he was at about 13000 foot elevation.  You would be lucky to a 20 second 1/4 mile up that high.   Notice the snow still up there in July.

That's what I like about colorado... even if Denver gets into the upper 90s, an hour drive into the mountains and you can get as cool as you like.

I was stationed in Phoenix when it hit 122??? About 25 years ago? I did like that town way back then. McDowell was all fields and when the sprinklers were on it was much cooler to ride my Harley home from work  than jumping on the freeway. I believe it was 51 degrees last night in Colorado! Good sleeping weather.
