What date is considered to be mid year production date for 1969 Dodge Chargers?  Thanks.

Ghoste

I generally think of it as January and February.

For the 66's it was last week of February to the first week of March

Thanks for responses.

My "build" date was January 22, 1969 and when I do the research there are several parts that change at mid year and was wondering if my car fell into: prior to mid year, or after mid year.

'Mid year' is a fairly general phrase used for any change during a model year. Some examples from the 1970 model year are;

Shaker hood no longer available on Challenger R/T.

Shaker hood now available again on Challenger R/T.

Challenger 340.

Rear spoilers on A, B & E-bodies.

Rear window louvers on E-bodies.

FM3 & FJ6 paint.

T/A hood now available on Challenger R/T & Challenger 340.

AAR Cuda.

Challenger T/A.

Gold Duster.

Barracuda & Challenger Coupes.

All came along after the model year started & before it ended, so they are generally considered 'mid' model year regardless of what date was on the calendar.

And with your 69 there would be the headrests that became mandatory in January.

was that also true for shoulder belts for the front seats?

Ghoste

Shoulder belts for the front were standard equipment in 69.
