I would like some input on deciding on which company to go with. AMD is a really great product from what I have read and my Charger has all the panels replaced with AMD when I traded for it. I was wondering if anyone has dealt with Classic Industries on their brand of new panels Restorers Choice? Are they just as good? Becuase I have noticed everything that AMD offers Classic Industries does too but I dont want to get "junk" for it being the cheaper way to go. Please let me know if you have had problems with either one. Im trying to decide on which one to buy from.
Seeing how that my car has all new AMD panels I would like to stay that way but if the others are just as good I can save a little bit of money to buy more stuff
Thanks with any help on this matter

"Restorers choice" is not a brand. It's a symbol that Classic industries uses to specify that a product is manufactured correctly to exact specifications and fits the way the factory intended. Atleast, that's what they say in their catalog.

I'm pretty sure they are selling AMD panels. We sell AMD, please check us out for a quote when you're ready to buy.

I've been wondering about restorer's choice too... :popcrn:

A couple of thoughts.

The various vendors make a lot of the same parts, although it seems that AMD makes more than others, but sometimes they don't match very well.  For example, I bought inner wheel wells from a vendor (I don't remember who) and outer wheel wells from AMD.  They didn't fit together very well at all.  So it might be a good idea to stick with one vendor.

Another thought, don't count on all the parts going in with no extra work,  you may be lucky and just fit parts right up but it's more likely to take some, or a lot, of work to get them to fit right.  After all, these old cars may have seen a lot of abuse and old restorations may only add to the poor alignment of body panels.

restorer's choice IS AMD,  I just bought 2 full quarters and a door skin from classic industries and all of my restorer's choice panals are AMD.

Good point. For what it's worth, my body man said the AMD quarter panel fit better than my NOS one.

When my Charger was restored, AMD rear quarter panels, AMD one-piece trunk floor an all associated pieces, about half the outer wheel wells were plasma-cut and used, an AMD tail light panel, and an AMD Dutchman panel was used. In other words, the whole rear of the Charger besides the sub frame, the trunk panel and the roll pan was replaced using AMD for it all.

No, they were not a perfect fit but they only required minor "massaging" to fit. I would recommend AMD whole-heartedly and use a local dealer instead of ordering direct. This way, if the panels get damaged in shipping (mine were not damaged at all), it will be easier on you to get replacement panels.

I do not know anything about Classic Industries' Restorers Choice panel as I do not think they were available when I got mine. They may be just fine but AMD panels worked for me!

I guess since I talked bout replacing most of the metal on the rear of the Charger, I should show the rear, huh !!
