i have installed one power window set up in my 1969 charger and the adjustable small track that is rivited to the window with the large plastic push rivet...well it pivots each time the window motor is engaged and  bangs up again the glass and i think it is going to break it..
is there a pad i need in there or am i out of adjustment..
has anyone else had this problem..to be clear i am talking about the six inch track that is put on the door glass by the half inch or so plastic rivet that is two pieces and this is the track that engages the window regulator large plastic circle piece that drives the window up..this is the same piece as a crank window has, but the power window is slightly different as again it has some adjustment on it..

So does the power window setup use a new track or is the old one utilized. The glass should sit pretty much in the bottom of the factory piece. Originally they had some sort of a tar paper like material that wrapped around the glass before the track piece was installed. I have had luck using 2 pieces of roofing felt wrapped around the glass and cut to fit the track. This keeps the track securely attached and limits the amount of pivot which should be fairly minimal to begin with. You can get the new plastic rivets as well so you don't have to worry about breaking the rivet while removing it, just be careful not to break the glass.

Meant to add tar paper/tape like material, not exactly sure what the factory used because it is usually so far gone its hard to tell what it is. Maybe someone on here knows what was used originally.
