69 383 A/C idler pulley

Has anyone ever cut apart an idler pulley?  The original ones have a metal cover over the body, it covers the bolt that holds it to the bracket.  I have a replacement from 4 Seasons, #45900.  I drilled out the two dimples on either side of the original cover - it didn't move.  Suggestions?  I'm going for an original look.

I want to say that cover is welded to the pulley.....

Thanks for the link!  Tomorrow I'll go up in drill bit size.  I have a belt squeal that I don't trust - broke a 5 mo old fan belt on the way to Carlisle.  I never thought they would reproduce the idler.  The Four Seasons part was only $12.50 or so.
