Whew, what a long day yesterday... Went to an old-time wreaking yard to see what's out there... Not much for this day.. But, thanks to my friend Mark Melde, I was able to bring home a 440 for my Superbird that ACTUALLY came out of another Superbird. It is my understanding the Bird was totalled back in the day... So, if I am to replace the 440, what better scenario than putting a Superbird 440 back in it.... It was great catching up with Mark...

Lord Warlock

I'm in the same boat, I killed the original 440 but pulled a replacement out of an original RT charger that had the matching number motor in it-car was toast, motor and trans and a few trim pieces was all I could salvage.  If I can't have the matching motor, at least I can say its an original charger r/t 440 motor.  Mine only had 69k original miles when I pulled it.  Now I don't want to rebuild it, just plan on leaving it stock.   Its as close as I could get to an original motor, been slapping myself for years for tossing the original because I didn't want to store it, didn't know then that I'd have storage available for 40 years for free.
69 RT/SE Y3 cream yellow w/tan vinyl top and black r/t stripe. non matching 440/375, 3:23, Column shift auto w/buddy seat, tan interior, am/fm w/fr to back fade, Now wears 17" magnum 500 rims and Nitto tires. Fresh repaint, new interior, new wheels and tires.

161591 was apparently a 440 4bbl - 727 FJ5 car.. No clue about the interior, but I can ask my friend who parted it out decades ago........

"An aggressive exterior with power to match was enough to pull in the performance boys-especially when abetted by a pair of pipes blaring out the back, and brawny red-sidewall rubber hitting the pavement."

I remember it did have a nose and a wing, and most of the interior.  I seem to remember it was parted for several reasons, one of which was no title.  This was 1981.
