I took the Daytona out of the garage today for the first time in many months....we have been so dry and without rain here for what seems like all year so far...the car was covered in dust so thick you could write yer name in it. Was washing the car for like 10 minutes when all of a sudden I heard this loud explosion and crashing coming from the garage......went around the corner and one of my 8 foot twin tube florescent light fixtures broke in half and fell to the ground.

Right where all this stuff landed was just where the nosecone and hood would have been had the car stayed there for 10 more minutes.....I cleaned it all up before I thought about taking pics....but you can imagine what a mess a pair of 8' tubes makes when it hits the ground....not to mention the fixture itself.....

(wonder what lottery numbers I should pick?)

whew !!!!!!!

That happened to me once.. My current '98 SS/T, then a brand new truck, was under an oak tree. I moved it to wash it... A storm came a brewin' and within 10 minutes, a gust of wind blew the oak tree down right where my truck was...

Karma was definitely on your side.....

Reminds me of my incident.

I hadn't gone into the barn for about a month, where my Boss 429 lived.
I opened the door to find the whole barn fill with smoke. I found the smoke was coming from a cardboard box in the store room. I grabbed the box, run to the door and through it outside, where it burst into flames!!! :o

The smoke, then flames came from a rag I had used to rub the outdoor furniture with lindseed oil, a MONTH earlier!!!
Not a nice way to find out your monitored smoke detectors where not working!!

That was close!

Yikes!  Noting like a little extra air to get a fire going!
Wonder how many days it was smoldering?

Lucky guy!
