My brakes(original drum) make a clicking sound in the left rear when I apply.  Took the wheel off it's all brand new.  Anyone got any suggestions.
thanks

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Sounds like that can be very deceiving as to their origin. Have someone else ride with you in different seats to make sure of which corner of the car is causing the sound. Do you have wheel covers or hub caps? If so, take them off and try driving and braking without them. Check your shock absorber mountings. I had a rattle in a Camaro years ago that drove me nuts until I realized the free shock installation at Pep Boys was not worth what they charged.

thanks, but it's definitely on the left rear when I brake.  No hubcaps. I have 10 spoke vectors. they do have the wheel adaptors but the wheels are tight I had just torqued them before the initial ride.
thanks for the response though.

A slightly out-of-round drum will often make the brake shoes click against the backing plate.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

could be a worn backing plate

Were the brake drums refinished?
They may have run the cutting tip too fast and put a directional finish on them, I've even seen new drums like that.

If you can feel grooves when you run your fingernail from the inside to the outside of the drum that may be your problem.
I've smoothed them out with an angle die grinder using a 3M Scotch-Brite disk
